"Osud" is Czech and possibly also Russian or other slavic languages word for "Doom".
He is intentionally translating various common game names into random foreign languages to keep in the tone of /tv/'s snobby "if it's exotic/foreign/european sounding is's more elite" tone.
Frankly, this is at least funny. One of the funniest things I've seen here in a while.
Still shitposting, but at least somewhat original. I'm pretty sure this board will repost it to death in the next few weeks though.

>What are the best video game stories?
as far as I'm concerned:
>Pathologic
>The Void
>Silent Hill 2
>SotC
>Cryostasis
>Grim Fandango
>I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream (though it's a cheat, considering it's origin)
>Bastion (I'm deadly serious here)
Some good genre fiction that deserves mentioning even if it's not exactly the best serious classic storytelling:
>Homeworld
>Morrowind
>Planescape Torment
>The Witcher games
>Fallout 1/2

I really, really wanted to play through Homeworld but I simply find the gameplay to be insufferable. I really want to finish it desu but I just can'y play through the campaign.
>>378055916
>I really, really wanted to play through Homeworld but I simply find the gameplay to be insufferable.
That is one of the games where I would expect people calling the gameplay "insufferable" the least.
I guess it has a somewhat steep learning curve and can be confusing at first (at least the original was with it's briliant, but not-easy-to-learn) control scheme.
What bothered you about it so much? It's not the best or most complex RTS of all time, and it is a bit on the harder side and there are some minor annoyances (like how only 10 groups are never enough and some other small issues), but it's not like it's Pathologic or something.
>>378056208
Maybe I'm just a brainlet but I always found it to be too much of a trudge. I was always limping to the finish. It wasn't necessary difficult, I just found the unit coordination (and how you always carried over your units to the next level bothered me, I tend to prefer a clean slate to adapt to the scenario at hand) and so on to be very awkward.
Saying that I've always been a casual player of RTS. I've never been much good at the autism clicking aspects.
>>378053427
What we really need is gameplay that actually complements stories, rather than acting like needless filler in between story sections.
>>378056623
The odd thing is that I was never big RTS fan myself, and I found Homeworld one of the few (together with some other more experimental titles, like Original War, Kohan, Majesty) that I never had major issues. You did remind me of one really bad feature of original Homeworld (and one of the few things the Remaster actually improved on the game) that there was no auto-mine resources at the end of the mission, often rewarding player to finish of all the enemies, then walk away while the game runs so that your harvesters can mine out the rest of resources on the map before jumping out.
Otherwise, I always found the game very elegant. It was one of the games where just thinking ahead and using formations right could mean the difference between not losing a single ship and losing your entire fleet.
It's a shame too. HW is good and the story, while simplistic, is gorgeous and really well presented. But if you can't get over it, it can't be helped. It's not like SH2 or something where I'd say "just bite it down": it's good, but not worth forcing yourself through pain.
