Quake 4 poster. Unironically love this game, it has a slow beginning though. But I just kind of like most Raven FPS.

Arcomage is GOAT
Rebel Galaxy is awesome + best soundtrack in a while.
My personal picks:
>Kohan: Immortal Sovereign/Ahriman's Gift
>Original War
>Factorio (it's not like it's completely obscure, but it oddly has that "autism" label that does not the game do much justice).
>Cryostasis (one of the best stories in modern gaming. Yeah the core gameplay is bad, but the story is like almost Silent Hill 2 level good.
>Shadow Warrior 2 (this one deserves a little explanation)
SW2 is a flawed game, no question. It's biggest issue is the fact that it does not explain or sell itself to the player at ALL. Seriously: most people who played it did not understand even more basic mechanics.
It also has a bit weird and narrow audience, because it's a game that requires you enjoy both EXTREMELY fast-paced chaotic action, AND build-optimization and slow-paced, methodical number-tweaking. And usually people who enjoy one of those things don't enjoy the other.
Also the level design is just... it's mechanically good, but it COMPLETELY lacks variety: it's basically just five themes for arena reconfigured 30 different times.
But it's also one of the most fun shooters released in a decade. The speed, the mobility, the tight connection between builds and game-style, the creativity, the core gunplay: they are actually really, really really damn good.
But it requires some learning and jumping through hoops of stat-tweaking to even get to it. It's a shame, there is a LOT to love about that game.
Also, my recent frustration:
>Prey (the new ones)
Fuck you guys for shitting on what is one of the best games of a decade.

OP, I don't think you'll find much sympathy here. Or more precisely, I hope you won't.

I played a lot of that when I played Might and Magic 8. It was fun, but I only played against A.I. And also I was a kid back then.

Syndicate is at absolute best incredibly average health-regen-two-weapons-cover-reliant era FPS. It's really not amazing: if you don't mind the Halo-style approach to FPS design (except you know, even dumber than Halo was because no vehicles, no semi-open locations etc...) it's at absolute best passable eight hours.
Rebel Galaxy I've heard a LOT good about, but never got around to play it. It's one of those games often named as "underrated" and "good niche titles" though.
Arcomage is a simple card game that isn't awful. Just... it's just a card game.
Quake 4 was universally though to be awful, but what do I know. I avoided it.
