There's not much point in getting a foreign DSi unless it would be cheaper than buying one from your home country. DS games aren't region-locked unless they run in DSi mode, and there are very few games that do that.

The DSi XL always has dual IPS panels so if your 3ds doesn't have them then I suggest you buy it
