>The future of the Hitman series was put in jeopardy earlier this month when Square Enix announced plans to "withdraw from the business" of developer Io Interactive. The situation seemed to brighten shortly after, when a rumor surfaced indicating that Io will retain the rights to Hitman and proceed with work on the second season. But an update tweeted today indicates that less than two weeks after the studio was put on the block, it has been forced to let employees go.
>The number of employees affected by the cuts isn't known, nor is the status of Square Enix's efforts to sell the studio. It's obviously not good news, but the potential upside is that reduced staff levels could help make Io more attractive to potential buyers. It's also possible—although this is purely speculation—that the layoffs are a condition of a buyout agreement that's been reached but not yet announced.
hahahahah...

Nobody cares, they will all get other jobs and once the company gets a new publisher they will hire people again.
It's a cost saving system, nothing more.
who still gives a shit about hitman
what was the last good game like 3? 2???
Good riddance.
They got so much feedback about episodic content, always online rubbish and the recurring voice actors in the levels but they didn't bother fixing any of that.
Why does /v/ hate Hitman so much?
>>378007162
Because /v/ is mostly salty piratecucks.
>>378007216
Fair point, /vint/ showed that 80% of /v/ posts are by Brazilians and Canadians.
This was actually a really good return to form for the series. It's really sad it had to end like this.
Absolution sold gangbusters apparently although it did get bundled a lot. Think everyone has a copy of that game whether they wanted it or not.
>>378007259
Really? That's sad.
>>378007134
This. I have no sympathy for a company that doesn't give a fuck about community feedback
>>378007008
Thank you based Denuvo.
>>378007008
IO and Hitman will endure no matter how much you weebs want it to go away. Squeenix on the other hand is just another slant eye company that is gonna turn close shop in the foreseeable future.
>>378007162
Because the DEVS DON'T FUCKING LISTEN
I was involved from the beta with Hitman 2016. So much feedback was given to them over the course of the first three episodes and the only thing they bothered improving was load times, a couple of AI things you could abuse and user interface stuff.
The levels got progressively worse, the always online component remained and the episodic model was untouched despite so much feedback.
>>378007794
Hey kotti. I know.
Honestly it's quite impressive they've been able to keep IP with such unremarkable characters for so long
>>378007794
>The levels got progressively worse
But Hokkaido was the best level in the game
>>378007794
>The levels got progressively worse
>>378007960
Not me, I liked the episodic release.
>>378007162
whens the last time they made a good hitman game
>>378009020
never
>>378009020
2016 you dog
>>378009186
dont respond to me like you have taste
>>378007556
All the sequels have Denuvo and thus have less sales because no word of mouth?
>it's a "/v/ thinks the devs are in charge of the sales model or what anti-piracy measures are implemented" episode.
You'd think a board of people who claim to know so much about videogames would have the first fucking clue how the industry works.
>>378007960
What did kotti hate besides the head turning that I agree is bullshit and almost ruined the Professional mode?
>>378009525
Denuvo doesn't affect anyone but pirates, that guy is just salty.
>>378009589
Well I'm sure the publishers are as happy about the running trend as you are. :)

>>378009574
Nah man, publishers just go in say "here's a moneybag", make gaem for me, with no strings attached.
And they can always ask for more time and bigger moneybag
>>378009587
Removing footstep sounds, promode in general being a fucking insult with 4 actual challenges, removing gunshot distractions, 5 level escalations.
head turning would be tolerable if viewcones' angles were smaller and divided into 2 categories
>focused
enemies see you perfectly and enforcers get suspucious at normal rate
>corner
half of normal values
>>378009589
It makes sense that people who dont have money arent going to buy more games unless they get more expendable income somehow.
Denuvo doesnt make anyones income higher other than the company that makes denuvo.

I am very happy these devs are dead, get fucked.
And I don't like moralcucks either, fighting over which one is the best goy is pathetic.
Shit games deserve shit reception, and i'm very happy justice was done.

don't continue breathing you mongrel
if you were my employee i'd order you to be shot
>>378010437
You're a sad case.
>>378010437
How'd you get your Steam to look like that?
>>378010974
It's a skin called PixelVision.
http://steamskins.org/pixelvision-skin-for-steam/
Look up tutorials on how to install them, but it's basically dropping files into the skin folder in Steam, and choosing the skin in the Steam settings.
>>378009924
>those last 4 minutes of the first video
>>378007008
Hopefully Square-Enix stops the "games as a service" meme.
Best Hitman game, shit way of publishing.
Just wait for it, they are gonna do this fucking shit to Thief 5 too.
is hitman available for pirate yet?
>>378011459
What's wrong with it in Hitman?
>>378007556
>games that were given away for free or dumped in humble bundles have more owners than the sequel that got released later and hasn't been dumped
Really makes you think.
Should I save any of these fucking worthless OC memes?
>>378011629
Everything
>>378011931
well im convinced
>IP interactive getting sold off.
>Suddenly all these anti-Hitman threads ripe with shitposting trying to put the blame of the episodic release on IO.
Boy I wonder who could be behind these posts?
>>378011629
Nothing, he's memeing. The way it worked for Hitman was perfect because not only did it make sense "in-game wise"(new mission/contract comes out after a while) but also in terms of Hitman games structure. They were always about exploring each level and finding new ways to kill the targets etc. and this is something most normies would never do so the episodic nature helped with that.
