Anyone who's been exposed to more technical, more dynamic fighting games will quickly pass on tekken. Other top fighters, namely Street Fighter, KoF and MK/Injustice have advanced impressively in their latest installments; but the relic that is tekken just can't seem to evolve, furthermore many combos can be done simply by hitting 1-button, and the nearly "instant-kill" rage art moves are just laughably broken. Instead of a supplying a proper fighting engine, matches in T7 seem to rely heavily on "who can get their rage move off first". So many elements of the gameplay don't even require any sort of skill. In my book, slow motion over and over again also gets old very quickly. And in the end, it's more of a novelty or gimmick rather than an actual, thought-out fighting game mechanic. But hey, the casual crowd will be pleased!

If you want something a little more "button-masher-friendly," tekken might be your cup of tea.... Key word, might.

i never really play tekken online only with Friends i'm not on the level of the pros, but if you watch them play all they do is dance around each other, tapping quick light attacks waiting for an oppertunity to do a stun attack then juggle them to the wall to knock them through and reset the juggle. They rarely even use any different type of wake up or ukemi at all too.
I don't expect the pros to be doing or ever get caught with the in game 10 hit combos, but you expect the to do power moves of stylish combos.You got people who play king, one of my mains, who never even grab at all, let alone to grab combos.

On top of that, this shitty new rage are system which looks terrible, few legacy chars and that it has been out for years so there is no chance of getting good online, this game is a pick up in the bargain bin a few years in the future

Are we watching completely different games? Pros tech roll, get up kick(mid and low), spring kick, or stay on the floor and take the hit. The oki is way less stagnant than you make it sound like.

King's most damaging chain grabs are all broken by mashing 2. They only do it as a surprise because why bother trying to get damage out of a chain grab where you have 4 or 5different opportunities to break out when you can just do GS or SW and get the damage where your opponent can only break it once.

The reason why pros don't grab with King is because other pros can regularly throw break on reaction. Which means King is stuck doing the GS/SW bullshit mixup since they both look the same but have different break buttons.

Also,Tekken has a really big roster with almost all classic characters. When SFV came out it had only 16 (!) fighters, with a bunch of new characters and leaving out many veterans. Tekken will have almost 40 (!) characters at release, more to come.

First of all, no. MK/Injustice are the EASIEST fighting games (talking about the big ones). I've played MKXL for about 6 months and it's sad how easy it is. SFIV was the hardest game for me to learn because of the EX canceling and red focus attacks. You had to have monster like timing to hit those and it was hard. Combos in SF are hard only because of the timing and the frame data. Tekken has well over 100 combos for EVERY character AND you can make more than 20 10+ combos by yourself. You are saying that it doesn't evolve yet this is a first time we have Rage Arts and the blue focus moves. Now I will ask you if YOU played any of these games because Tekken is the last game to get something like an ultra or a finishing move. I agree TT2 didn't require a lot of skill. but the 1v1 style had a lot more skill. In every game you can spam moves across the map and poke and do shit, that's garbage. Here, you have 1 move and you can evade it by sidestepping. Also, sidestepping. I haven't seen any 3D fighting games who rely a lot on that move like Tekken. And now if you think hitting 15 DIFFERENT buttons in a consecutive order is "button-masher-friendly" game, than my friend you have never seen Naruto and Super Smash Bro games.

As far as signature moves go, one of the most frequent in recent games is the tiger drop, which is a type of one inch punch counter hit.
In Yakuza 0, he had 3 additional fighting styles added to his index of moves, which call fill in space for combos, the fighting mechanics in the Yakuza series already involve multiple types of punches, kicks, grapples and special moves.

Anon, I've played in a lot of tournies throughout my life , and yes, the nigger inhabits all games, but they are usually subdued in games like Street Fighter, BB, and GG. It seemed like the most niggerish players ALWAYS played Tekken. This is true for anywhere in the US that I traveled for tournies.
