well, it takes a lot of farming to get enough armor for later missions (some of which are brutal), and you have to do it on 4 characters separately.
If you're on PC then you can skip the farm entirely by using cheats, but that's no fun
Also, if you're on PC and don't want to cheat then watch out in public games, some players use cheats that set max armor for ALL people in lobby (so not just the cheater)

As I said - now I would just go with split screen farming - setup AFK Normal or Easy near tunnel exit, 2x same class so double armor gains and just blast ants for hours until I have enough armor to get through Inferno.
I have WD with 6.5k, AR with 15k, Fencer 22k and Ranger 16k. Funnily enough Fencer and WD are the only 2 that do not need that high armor - because both of those classes are extremely mobile and can dodge most attacks instead of absorbing them.

Not much then. That game sucks you in with dungeon exploring even though it tells you not to go out of your way to explore every room but I can't help it.

I haven't played that game in 3 years and I started fresh last night. I found a mission on the world map that I decided I wanted to do. Turns out there was a cave near the mission start area so I went down it.

And it was huge. Not only that, but there were 4 sub-dungeons scattered around it which pretty much doubled the amount of time I spent there. Then it turns out there's a passage to a lower cave with higher level enemies.

So I went down it. It was much smaller than the last cave, but there was another passage to a lower cave. At this point Level 3 enemies were kicking my ass but on the map I could see another passage down so I have no clue how big this cave was really. This isn't accounting for any more sub dungeons that might be strewn about.

It took me an hour and a half before I explored everything I could and started the mission, which only took 5 minutes

It's actually a lot faster paced than Skyrim because you do more than light or heavy attacks (you use skills a lot more than basic attacks) and there's more content than Skyrim. If you mean the enemies are less responsive when hit then yeah that's true. They're stunned when you block a heavy or interrupt their spells, though. It's not like the combat is completely mindless.

I actually did. There was a bug where the game crashes every time I try to zoom with sniper rifle. I tried to attach a mod to silenced pistol in Liberty island and it crashed, I was like this is ok. Later I get sniper and same happens, now I reinstall.
