Are the Switch directional buttons better than the 3DS dpad?

Case by case scenario. Anything with diagonals like Blaster Master is better with the D-pad on 3DS, but for games that use only 2 directs or menus, direction buttons can be on par, or even optimal. Such examples include Puyo tetris for optimal, and Shovel Knight for Par.
