That whole site went to shit. Completely devolved into a microtransaction P2W system like a shitty mobile game after the original owner sold it to a literally who company who put all of their effort into jewing as many people as possible.

They left all of their games and services completely fucking broken for an inexcusable number of years in order to cash in on retards who got suckered into paying loads of cash for the same item 20 times to get a fully functional set.

All of these problems still plague the site to this day, and that's just scratching the surface. I log in once or twice a year just to have a good laugh.

Even after Gaia stopped perpetuating the myth that Gaia was in the red they continued to increase cash shop prices. Seeing items priced at $50-$1000 was normal. Yes, a thousand fucking dollars. Gaia was making bank with the cash shop. Rumors spread that Gaia was making a porn site and Gaia was quick to deny it. Tentacl came soon after and the rumors were true. It didn't last long though and iirc it was shut down in under a year.
