It has nothing to do with friend codes. Every system generates a file called localfriendcodeseed_b that's exclusive to their console. Nintendo checks that to see if you're banned. If you want to get unbanned, you would need someone to upload their own file, but Nintendo will be able to see both users having the same code which obviously should not happen.

What you CAN do, if you want to be a complete asshole, is to go to Gamestop/Amazon, buy a new system, swap the files, and return it. Though whoever ends up buying the system after you will be fucked. lel

I think it's time to panic. It's entirely possible the reason no one can pin a definite cause down is because they aren't targetting anything specifically. They are targetting EVERYONE with -any- illegitimate/unauthorized app in their ACTIVITY LOG.

The log gets sent to Nintendo when you connect to their online services (Miiverse, Eshop, any online game) and they can see all the data contained within it, including homebrew/pirated games/out of region games/dev apps.

If this is the case, we are all completely FUCKED with no chance of escape. Literally anyone who has run homebrew, pirated games or out of region games is exposed and will likely be banned in waves.

I think this is it, they finally found an attack vector against CFW/pirates that doesn't fuck legit users.

Funny thing about the activity log is that you can delete any information using homebrew. Also I've transferred my activity log and games from my hacked 3DS onto my new 3DSXL and had no issues.
