No, actually, SE shared with us their new strategy which was to remove levels all together but to since the game is still running on PS4 hardware they're instead just making your current level permanent.

Yes. And actually, they're pulling a full Super Ghost 'n Goblins on everyone. In order to unlock the expansion levels, you'll need to start all the MSQ from the beginning and finish within a time limit. The cutscenes are also being switched to unskippable, dialogue included. They revealed all this to us super exclusive media tour members.
