Liked the original Zelda in its time, but going back to it today I can't care to deal with its clunkyness.
Still like Zelda II. It's an excellent action game with a good deal of freedom.

Any other Zelda after the first two each has stuff that put me off from each of them. Specifically how each of them have become far more linear yet at the same time much more of a pain in the ass to navigate and find the next progression point. Worst of all, how each dungeon is just a series of locked rooms with really stupid "puzzles" for the item you get in that dungeon (which has little use outside of that dungeon) that only serve to be a dull timesink.

Breath of the Wild doesn't really appeal to me either. It may have gone "open world" and dropped most of the puzzle shit, but its core gameplay is a nonstop loop of really non-engaging consumption. Expend your resources (or just use your infinite bombs) to gain back the same resources, little reason to engage in combat with most enemies.
