In 2 Trunks returned to the future and killed the androids by fighting them and then killed cell because he had a heads up about the ambush and greater strength from training in the hyperbolic time chamber.

3 is the main timeline

4 is like the main timeline except one were Trunks didn't make his return trip and the Cell games happened without him.

I don't recall it being shown but it was mentioned in Z that according to how time travel logic works for every return trip to the past there's a timeline were he didn't make that return trip. That's because he doesn't alter the past just create a new timeline.
In that timeline they supposedly defeated Cell and Buu then happened.
According to that logic that'd mean in Super there's a bunch of new timelines since they went back and forth like they were going to the grocery store.
