Last I tried playing Alpha 17, something would break pathfinding randomly and kill my game. Is that fixed?

Also, rivers and roads weren't all that interesting from an on-map perspective, none of them really add much to gameplay. Helps for caravaning though.

60 hours and have seen and done everything, but it was a blast.

updates have slowed down quite a bit. ow they have slowed down and are trying to pad for time by asking what players want. Meanwhile mods flew past the devs almost a 6 months ago.

Only one I really like is RimFridge, the rest screw with balance a lot.

I use Prepare Carefully sometimes too, but lately I've been sticking to a 3 reroll rule for colonists just because it's easy to make too easy of start by rolling too much. And doesn't matter all that much in the long run since you're going to get random recruits no matter what.

I made a mod that added drugs that turn people into cows/chickens/pigs but this update broke it and I cant fix it. Oh well, was a fun way to deal with prisoners while it lasted.

Sort of. You can conquer other settlements on the map, and I heard the latest update actually generates new ones on occasion with unique challenges in them. You can run multiple settlements if you want, but you're limited to five max, and the game can really chug with that many.

Fire can't spread through a 2 wide wall of stone floors. You can have as many wooden buildings as you want, just make sure they have 2x wide stone walkways around them and it is a lot more manageable.

Is there a viable defense for random space pods full of pirates to crash into your base or does that not happen anymore?

Why is that a problem? The electrical circuit of the medical ward are separated from the rest of the base and those batteries serve only as a backup generator. The majority of the time they are off the grid.

At this point I am trying to allocate the rest of the batteries to the reactor room in the top left corner.

Yeah, it is quite a challenge to defend this base. But the challenge makes it quite entertaining, it forces me to use a bit of strategy once raiders come through the doors. It's more fun than a killbox imo.

The bzzt events are retarded. Either have to segment out your powergrids and really fiddle with management to ensure everything's getting a balance of power, or deal with a nuke going off periodically in your base.

The only even I hate more is "Wild Animal goes berserk." I swear to god, a squirrel attacking my pawns and shutting down operation unless I go and micromanage someone to kill it is the biggest waste of time I've ever had to put up with.

That only sort of helps because they still take damage and either have to go get patched up in the medical ward or possibly suffer an infection from bleeding.

The only real good way to mitigate it is later on when you have turrets around your base that'll kill enraged animals for you.
