Hokuto Musou had large groups of mooks, and it didn't feel wrong that they could give you some trouble if they were 20 or 30

And the real challenge was another practicioner of Nanto Seiken/Hokuto Shinken at the end, just like in the series (where like only 6 people on the entire world can realistically be a threat to Kenshiro)

I don't think the series, despite being so old, ever had a truly AAA game. Hence the thread. My favorite is the Arcsys FG, but that game was made on an obvious budget and it's getting harder and harder to play (both Atomiswave and PS2 emulation ran it with errors last I checked)

The first Hokuto Musou is a good starting point, and it's somewhat different from other Musou games. Hokuto Musou 2 is so generic, HnK is basically a flavor, I wouldn't want something like that again

But i really don't liked the mass combat in musou, in hnk every fight, even those against minor enemies gets milked for dramatic effect.
A good hnk game needs to not push 100 of enemies at you all the time, but to give you actually good fights,

Ironically I think the best hokuto no ken game would be one where you do not play as Hokuto no ken. It would be an OPEN WORLD RPG based in the same universe, perhaps after the events of the end of the show. You could create your own character and eventually choose one of say 30 martial arts styles, and forge your own story kind of like the show with a heavy focus on either representing chaos or order.

Play the first Hokuto Musou's Dream mode and he does.
Kenshiro gives up the mantle and goes off to live in peace with Yuria, Toki keeps the peace as the True Successor and Raoh is free to go back to Land of Asura to end the shitstorm there.

It only makes me even more mad that Ken's Rage 2 was a rushed piece of dumbed down garbage without a real dream mode. I so fucking wanted a Dream mode scenario with Raoh coming to the Land of Asura.

It lifted the opponent off ground, nullified his senses (you can't see/hear during this) and put you into a miniature Zero G hole.

Kenshiro gets rekt the first time by this due to being unfamiliar with it.
The second time he IMMEDIATELY easily beats it by spinning in the air to create counter-force and regain his balance.
