I just started playing Atelier Sophie the other day, because it's been a while since I've had my dose of weeb trash. I haven't touched an Atelier game since Rorona, but this one seems off. Can anyone tell me how it stacks up to the rest of the series recently?

I just started Atelier Sophie, is this a good place to get into the series. I heard other games have time limits to get the good endings, are these time limits super strict, or more just to ensure you're not pissing away weeks in-game doing nothing?

Sophie seems really fun so far, and I like that the story is kind of "approach at your leisure", but not sure if the rest of the games follow the same formula.

As someone that's shit at managing his time, I've managed to beat the final storyline bosses from Totori to Escha&Logy with plenty of months to spare.

The Arland games all have a time limit and so does the first two Dusk games. The removal of the time limit is what fucked everything up because they didn't change anything else about the game. Dying isn't penalizing anymore because you don't lose time. Money isn't worth much anymore because the whole point of buying item is saving time from having to gather/craft them. Before, you'd have to plan your travels to save time but also not fill your basket so that you can't bring back stuff; doesn't matter anymore because infinite time, you can just go gather whenever you want without planning anything. It's a series about time management and now you have infinite time, and they didn't change anything else to go along with this change. Sophie doesn't have a lose condition since the only way to lose before was to run out of time.
