I dont get why they didnt take the chance to diversify the classes a bit more. One of the biggest flaws this game has compared to other MMORPGs is the fact that ALL CLASSES are streamlined as fuck. Like, there is only one (1) way to play class X and no other. There is zero room to customize the class you want to play, only one playstyle.

As much as I like FF14, this is citique I cant deny. Doesnt help that equipment is just as boring. No set bonuses, no skills, just raw numbers. All you do is hunting for higher numbers, if you get new gear its better as long as it has your primary stats on it and these numbers are higher. Shit gets old fast. They should at least add a simple customize system like in FFX where you could add skills on your armor. Even if its +1% more STR or elemental resistance or auto protes, I highly doubt stuff like that would be too hard to implement without killing the balance.

Even looking right at all its tooltips its hard for me to say. I am not sure just how bad someone can be and get away with it.

Its very noticable if you're bad on rdm. You will end up going off rotation with the effect of chainspell. You need the freebie instacast proc'ing in order to not be stuck doing 5 second casts on the strongest near 70 abils. This means if a rdm is being a BADS you will see them hanging out like a fucking black mage. They'll blow their MP. Then need to dart in and melee more than normal.

A good rdm will be at ranged 90% of time (sorry folks who wanted half n half) and you simply nip in then out when your gauges are high enough. Its an 8 step combo to do all of that properly, but it happens very fast.

I think one of NIN's problems is the utter lack of survivability, despite being a melee class. They should be able to use Smoke Screen and Shadewalker on themselves and it's stupid that they can't.
