J is on the bridge Del Toro enters and J signs the PT system crash screen. For the first time in about seven months Konami have been providing daily updates on the nuke counter, with E3 right around the corner. They also said they'll remove nukes obtained by "cheating" and will be making it easier for disarmament to be achieved (e.g, removing blockades). It was a rigged game from the start, Kojima will only allow us to reach it when he wants us to.

Nuclear disarmament will trigger the final ending where we return to Camp Omega and find out what really happened after the GZ helicopter "crash". The revelation there will retcon TPP into a coma nightmare / VR / mental illness, leaving MGS5 to continue the story.

Disarmament will happen in about 6 months, it was always planned to be like this, it's meant to teach us how much war actually fucking sucks, it robs is of our time and denies us a future.

The main incentive of owning a nuke is to massively boost your PF rank and remain competitive in the FOB multiplayer. The thing is, not just nukes boost this PF, the ranks of Yu our soldiers, number of successful outer ops, heroism, amount of vehicles owned and even the amount of FOBs and equipment.

In a few months the top ranking Nike owners and players will hit AAA+ PF rank, effectively killing the point of owning a nuke all together, there will literally be no added benefit and it will actually become a detriment because it will keep you a target. For now, the risk offers a reward big enough to encourage development and proliferation of nuclear arms, but not for much longer. Additionally, once these insanely good players reach AAA+ rank and disarm, they will effectively start disarming others. That literally means the best players in the world will be helping soon.

It's brilliant actually, it is a perfect recreation of a Cold War arms race in a video game. Eventually, we will have other weapons and forces that make owning nukes rather trivial. Whatever happens after that is unknown, but know this /v/.
