Numerous things would've helped it succeed.
No current event nigger lives matter content, gay propaganda. But hey Canada.
No retarded pre-order schemes.
Shorter game is only okay if it finishes the story in a satisfactory manner. MD did not.
Lipsync and really off putting ingame footage didnt help.
Out of place online features that only served to subtract from the experience.
Breach mode was widely regarded as massive waste of development time, just to tick a box for "online features".

Again, person didn't explore enough, the single hub is so vast it could have been cut into 4 different hubs, so many enterable buildings, vertical exploration and underground facilities.

if the investors made a wrong decision it's their fault. HR sold somewhat between 2 million copies from when it was released to date. If Sqeenix was expecting to make Final Fantasy numbers with DX and get a shitton of sequels out of it it's bad project management and they're the only ones to blame.
