I went to Disney world in 2008. I was eating diet pills that make you liquid shit if there's too much fat in your diet. I ate pizza hut one night and the next day at universal studios I shit myself bad. I had to get my mum to drive me back to the hotel. I told her to go back out and spend the day with my sister and I would chill back at the hotel.
When she left I finally got a chance to have a wanking, but I was so randy I stuck one of my mum's wine bottles in the toilet and stuck the neck in my ass. Feeling the glass grind against the ceramic felt pretty good.
After I came I spent the day on my DS lite playing Yoshi's island.

Was me in high school.
Straight up 1s (equivalent to your Fs) in almost everything as a result.
Did it for 3 years straight (repeating 3 years).
After that I put in the absolute bare minimum effort, passed and went to one of the best unis simply because I actually did well on final exams.

Incorrect. It's only thing that matters if you want to work abroad, but if you're content with your own country then local ranking is quite important. The uni I go to is notorious for its rather harsh weeding out of students during the first year.

So when I was young and, frankly, kind of stupid I enrolled in community college in a game design related course. This is before I switched to computer science at a full university.

One of our classes, the "thesis" course of the 2 year game design course, was a class-wide project to make a game. And oh boy, it was a shitshow.

At the start, before we all suggested our ideas, the professor said something important. "This isn't going to be your opus, you're going to be making this in 15 weeks." Some people in the class got the idea: Go with an idea that isn't super dense. Coincidentally, most of the people who got this idea were primarily on the code side of things. Art side also got it, but their ideas were a bit more... high concept, shall we put it.

AND THEN THERE WERE THE IDEAS GUYS. The ideas guys were the ones who ignored this advice and decided that no, they were going to get their dream game made in this class. That this master work they were planning that would break them into the industry would be made here.

One of the ideas guys campaigned his way into getting his idea made into the class' work. And he and the art side had all these lofty ideas. They were going to make models, do cut scenes etc.

Our end product, basically put together by the programming team entirely, was a bottom-tier asset flipper with a few kinda shitty new models.

Well over here you have 3 levels of secondary education. Lowest level if physical stuff like learning how to be a mechanic and shit, middle is applied science stuff with more science subjects highest education prepares you for university and has loads of theoretical subjects. You can get held back but they can also just implore you to lower your level of education.

I think the only reason anybody does "game design" courses is so they can hear lecturers talk about their favorite hobby.

Anyone who's genuinely serious about breaking into the industry knows that an IT course is the only option.

We do have 3 levels as well, but they are a bit different in that they aren't strictly descriptive of quality tiers.
Lower level is only the physical part, called Labour School. Trained to be car mechanic, construction worker etc.
Then you've got the High School level, with good and bad high schools obviously, private and public and whatnot, 3 years to graduate yada yada. It's the most popular option and the best schools of this "period" so to speak are usually high schools.
And then you've got Technical Schools which are supposed to be a mix of Labour and High School, lasting 4 years. In theory you'd think that those would be best for producing engineers and whatnot right? Bzzzt, wrong. They are usually barely above Labour Schools in terms of plebs.

I had a prototyping course once, and for funsies our final project was prototyping a VR game
we just "made" a battlezone crossed with tower defense and a hint of driver san fran (the car hopping, but instead you could posses towers)
the project was literally idea guys only since the point of the class was how to work out as many flaws with your shit before you put work in so as to save effort/time and not an actual modeling/coding class, and you could still tell the "idea guy" groups even among the idea guy groups
one group did an unholy clusterfuck of a cross between escape the room and point and click, for example, that didn't work at all despite how fun it was to watch
