A lot of things in games are pointless, hell playing games are pointless. That being said they can help incentivize playing a game a certain way or replaying it. Personally I don't care too much about them, they're just a side bonus thing and if they're simple enough I'll 100% it for the hell of it.

It's okay. I'm bored and some are actually fun challenges to do sometimes. Stuff like beating a game only with it's initial equipment, to try and experience some of the optional content out, etc. I usually only try to go all out on games I already planned to go 100% for anyways.

If I like a game a lot I'll platinum it for the hell of it, but you can count them on one hand. A friend of mine though, he brags on facebook about his 30~ platinums and got royally mad when he found out I bought the Nier Automata trophies

Well designed achievements can give you an incentive to see all the games content or reward you for testing you skill
Poorly designed achievements are just shit like die for the first time, played the tutorial, kill 5 enemies etc

Achievements are just like challenges. If you want to complete them, big whoop, people can see you completed them and nothing else. If not, whatever. They're neat for setting goals you might not have otherwise.

I always see this and wonder what the fuck actually happened. Do they just put the game in, walk away to do something else, and never come back to the game? It has to be some kind of glitch or statistical error. I somehow stopped being able to earn trophies on my first playthrough of Infamous Second Son. Then my save got corrupted. I did this for Rayman Origins and Legends, across 4 different systems. I wouldn't do it if I didn't love both games though.

That's right, I did Legends three god damn times on PS4, Xbox 360 and Vita. Would have the PS3 version done if not for a shitty glitch which wiped all of my progress (Continue option on main menu doesn't always appear, so mashing to get on with it defaults to the New Game option which WIPES IT ALL in a single fucking press. Why they didn't even bother adding an Are You Sure is beyond me. Absolutely filthy that it's so easy to do this)
Don't play the Vita version of Legends, it is fucking awful. Half of the levels are shitty touchscreen levels which is apparently the Wii U version as well. Why it's considered the best version of the game is beyond me

Apparently the hardest achievement I've earned according to True Achievements is the one in Guitar Hero World Tour for getting a good score on Beat It but that one is fucking easy. The one in Metallica for doing the same thing with Stone Cold Crazy is miles harder but has a much lower ratio.

I have the newer design 360 (not the very latest one though). It gets quite hot but does not fail. If you have Xbox One, you are probably better off doing it on the there (backwards compatible).
