I always rip the stickers off when they're new but because I tend to sweat easily, so I don't want grime and dust to accumulate under the sticker over time. Better to just rip it off from the start and have it remain clean and pristine without the adhesive becoming a tough stain over time.

>>
>>377892282
Where do people get the idea SLI has issues? It works with everything I play, always has for several gens of GPUs... I've SLI'd...

>7950 GT OC
>GTX 770
>R9 290X
>GTX 980
>GTX 980 Ti
>GTX 1080 Ti

I've had minor issues here n there which usually just needed a quick google search to resolve. Mind you, in most of these setups I tried 1 GPU first, if it couldn't run shit at the settings I wanted with smooth FPS, I add a second. 1080 Ti.. figured fuck it why not just go big off the bat.
>>
>>377892709
Just from a lot of SLI users reporting issues for newers games, saying it stutters, hitches, crashes or that they have to disable SLI entirely, shit like that. I've been thinking about going for SLI in my next upgrade but these issues have always made me skeptical about it. You really have had zero issues with it so far?

>>
>>377892865
Zero issues, some games don't support it right off the bat, but that just means your second GPU is sitting there idle, which is quite rare. I haven't had an issue in the past couple years related to SLI minus Vive software having an issue with it for a couple weeks before they fixed it.
>>
>>377893526
>some games don't support it right off the bat
I'm worried about this mostly. Is it really as rare as you say? And in the case of games that don't support it right away, how long does it usually take for it to have support? I'm only asking because I wouldn't want to waste money on something that just sits idle most of the time.

We are definitely not there yet senpai. The gap is definitely closing a lot every gen, but you could build a rig that would out perform your average high end gaming laptop for 25-35% less money.

>>377895706
It's less about the amount of money and more about the quality of product it's buying you. Spend the same amount on a desktop, you get a lot more. Portability still has a very big price tag and for the mass majority, it's just not worth the extra cost.

A god tier rig that isn't anywhere near as portable as a laptop. I agree desktops are almost always the better choice, but if you need the portability, laptops are worth it.
>>
>>377894492
So what are we supposed to do? Drag a desktop, keyboard, and monitor on a plane? Even if you go mITX and game on a 15" monitor, a laptop will be more portable, and therefore worth the extra price.
>>
>>377890336
Not OP here, but 8GB is killing me right now. I work and play games using my desktop, and Chrome by itself takes up about 4-5 gigs. I usually have about 20 or so tabs that are left open, because they're work related and are basically a reminder for me to finish whatever's open in that tab.

So yeah, I'll be adding more ram very soon.

Depends on how long you are willing to fiddle with settings to remain over 60fps. But i'd say that setup is going to be fine for another 3-4 years
