https://www.theguardian.com/film/2017/may/24/top-gun-2-is-definitely-happening-says-tom-cruise
The plot is basically Ace Combat 7's as well
>“The concept is, basically, are the pilots obsolete because of drones. Cruise is going to show them that they’re not obsolete. They’re here to stay,” Bruckheimer said.
I think Ace Combat is cool but never managed to finish 04, Zero or 6. Yet I've finishedHAWX______...
>>377882518
HAWX isgood, but it doesn't match up to even 6, which is considered a weak installment for Ace Combat
>>377881728
That's not 4, buddy.

I am really into flight game, would you recommend me this? and if so what game should I play first?
I only played War Thunder. I like realistic battle more than arcade

>>377887131
>>377887186
why the slavshit gotta be so sexy
I like the Flanker series
>>377885486
It's about as arcady as War Thunder
It's a must play if you like flight games, with tons of planes to fly, varied, fun missions, surprisingly great stories, and god-tier soundtracks.
Most people start at 4, then 5, then Zero, but all three are excellent, so you can start at the one that's easiest to emulate (5 or Zero, 4 still has some problems)
>>377883659
>>377881728
I still haven't gotten around to Zero, but between it and 4, which had the better story? I always see Zero's posted a lot, but that might just be because it had a greater focus on a cast of characters. 4's always stands out to me because of how understated it was, especially compared to 5, 6 and Assault Horizon. Most of the story is just characterizing your rival from the perspective of a civilian kid, or tiny snippets in mission to contextualize what the battle is. It much more my sort of speed.
I mean, obviously
>Ace Combat
>Story
but still. I prefer what we got in 4 to the grating, in your face writing of 5.
tfw only finishedAce Combat X
I really should get around to playing others. I actually own Zero, but I don't really like playing vidya in the living room. You say Zero emulates well?
>>377891405
I couldn't get it to work. But i have dedicated Ace Combat ps2 setup on stand by at all times.
Will we ever see him again?
>>377891083
I'd say they're both pretty equal. Zero as well is told from the perspective of your enemies in the form of somber, post-war documentary interviews, with different aces, interviews, and opinions about you depending on your playstyle (ie destroying only your required targets vs destroying everything in your path).
It's definitely the gloomiest, most atmospheric of the three.
>>377891405
Zero emulates pretty well yeah, just alternate between software/hardware rendering depending on which gives you the most trouble. Also, Ace Combat X is god-tier and completely underrated.
>>377882693
>6
>a weak installment
6 has the best gameplay in the series. the only reasons people don't like it is because of the exclusivity and the side plot with the mother.
>>377892426
It also had too few planes.
>>377892426
Yeah really, I often wonder if people who say 6 is weak actually played it.
It lacked a bit of the crazy shit of 5 and zero but that's not necessarily a bad thing, they can't always escalate to insanity, sometimes all you need is to take back Gracemaria.
>>377892690
Uh, it had the two biggest superweapons in the series, a flying aircraft carrier with infinite mini-nukes, and a giant fucking gun complete with giant iron-sights on top of it.
Zero is the tamest in terms of insanity actually
>>377892864
>excalibur
>more tame than the SOLG or arkbird
>>377892864
Nah you had some of those missions where shit went to absolute chaos. That's what I mean, you never had shit like doing a ground attack mission only to get8492
You never had the twists and turns. I think 7 will, but it was good for 6 to be closer to 4 I think, they'd done the twisting road 2 times in a row.
>>377893096
>What is Weapons of Mass Destruction
>What is Gracemeria Patrol
Both we're definitely 8492: 2.0

"Every time I flew with him, his skill stood out. He was unstoppable... He was cool-headed and proud. A combat professional. Demon Lord fit him perfectly. Maybe the man was blessed by the goddess of war... Before long, everyone had taken notice of him. More and more would show up to watch him go off on sortie. Mercenaries or maintenance crew, it didn't matter. People wanted to burn his image into their memories. Hell, they weren't the only ones."

excalibur used mirrors in space to reflect the beam anywhere they wanted it to go. the arkbird was only capable of hitting things within it's LoS.
>>377893264
naw, nothing was nearly as bad as that first mission.
And besides, you didn't jump sides like 3 times.
