There's nothing wrong with Samus being a little sarcastic. I've always envisioned that she would just be really sick of the Space Pirates' shit, along with other criminals that she'd have to take in, and would be more of an angry sarcastic person, but still more or less reserved. She could have a bit of a sense of humor, but it'd be really deadpan and with a sense of general annoyance. She should have the air of someone who doesn't really have a sense of humor, but every once in awhile might make you laugh through her deadpan delivery.

But more importantly, she should have a certain drive to her. There should seem to be something inside of her, kind of like a righteous fury, that drives her to fight evil at every opportunity, at all costs, though to allies, civilians, and children, she should be warm and friendly, if still very reserved.

I see Samus as being a very complex character but also a very quiet, subtle one. Sorry if it didn't come off that way in my initial post.

I think EVERYONE is worried about that sort of thing, since it's in Nintendo's hands. But honestly, I see better ideas coming from fans than from Nintendo. Just look at, you know, Other M and Federation Force. Lots of us had ideas of what kind of person Samus Aran was and then we all know what Other M did to her. And then with FF, a Federation spinoff was something that a lot of us wanted to see, but they fucked it up in the worst way possible. This was actually more or less the idea that I had, but I also felt like since Samus spends a lot of time cataloging alien creatures, running into them a lot of the time, and has certain studied at least some lifeforms, like the Metroids, she should be something of a xeno zoologist as well. If nothing else, she should be cataloging alien species, taking pictures, recording videos of them, writing notes in her logbook, and giving them to scientists in that field for some extra cash, if not also doing it out of her own interest. But she should be more of a xeno-archaeologist before that, which I think would make a bit of more sense.

If you think about it, Samus is kind of a polymath.

I replayed Prime 3 recently and it wasn't that great. The areas are really short and linear, the powerups are mostly boring and most of the rooms are enclosed so getting screw attack earlier in the game than prime 2 isn't that much fun.
The bosses also tend to be "shoot it's small glowing spot that it moves around on the end of a string" instead of like the previous games where bosses had more of a strategy to damaging them.

As cool as Metroid Deus Ex sounds, Metroid is about isolation.
