I liked the whole fantasy Disney movie feel the movie's had going on, but that just looks way out place.

Only if it's an episodic one that skips all story episodes.

The story is pretty boring and misses what makes the silly episodes so good: inflicting small amounts of Akko on the rest of the cast to make them shine.
Episodes that focus on Akko are easily the worst.
Also a criminal lack of frank.

Nah, it's nothing like that at all really. It's mainly that the Aunt and her daughters try to mess up Diana's chance at completeing the ritual but they get zapped and almost turn into trees.

The episode was really damn good and the best in the series so far.

The movies felt like I was watching Lilo & Stitch, Spirit or Eldorado again. Just a solid story filled with energy, fun characters and good jokes, something like that anyway.

Personally I am waiting for the Vita version of Romancing SaGa 2. I have played the Romancing SaGa remake for the PS2 and it is excellent. It just isn't your typical JRPG though. The games give you much more room to explore and it is very common in being lost since you may not know what to do or how to do it. That coupled in with natural growth mechanics and it can rub some people who like traditional JRPG's the wrong way.

I've had more fun watching it than any other show in the last year or so but it has been a bit of a letdown in a few ways.

The two obvious options for how to adapt the OVAs into a longer series seemed to be either making it more of a plot-heavy adventure or keeping the spirit of the OVAs and using frivolous episodic stories to explore and develop the myriad of interesting characters that Yoshinari designed to inhabit Luna Nova, and really either of these approaches could have made for an amazing series. Instead they opted for neither of these. The plot is little and far between and with only five episodes left the chances of a satisfying climax and resolution are looking slimmer and slimmer, and instead of focusing on lots of different witches in the episodic stories almost every episode is about Akko, who is fine in moderation but really shouldn't be in the spotlight so constantly, and even the episodes that are supposedly about the other witches are still 40%-60% Akko as almost everything is seen from her perspective. It's led to us knowing barely any more about a lot of the rest of the supposedly main cast than we did after just watching the two OVAs, with Dianna being the only real exception.

Also while it would be naive to expect the animation quality of a tv series to be anywhere near that of government/kickstarter funded short-movies it is quite clear that Trigger really do not have their shit together at the moment and it has led to more than a few episodes whose rushed and outsourced animation really does not do justice to the gorgeous character designs and backgrounds.

But then you have moments like the sword fight in ep17 or the whole trial in ep20 and just nail it. I do hope everyone involved learns from it and gives us a much stronger and consistent season 2 because LWA has incredible potential to be something fantastic and great and huge.

basically the show doesn't do anything interested with them for the most part. the biggest case of this is with croix ("modern" witch who's magic is controlled through smart phones) and constanze (this girl >>377851745 who's also a techno witch but with more mechanical stuff and still uses old magic to work). you'd think that with characters with similar themes but very distinct applications would warrant at least 1 scene where they each react to another's tech. but so far we've gotten absolutely nothing from this over the course of the second cour.
