Fuck I remember a hidden gem that I played a long time ago for PS1 recommended by some anons on here. It was some sort of summer vacation game where you did activities and it was ultra comfy as fuck for what it was.

Just because it's possible to find a game doesn't prevent it from being considered a hidden gem. Obviously, some games get significantly more publicity than others. Hidden refers to something that is difficult to find, not something that is virtually impossible to find, dib shit.

Folklore is mediocre. Nice soundtrack and art, but the gameplay goes from alright to tedious pretty quickly. And this is ignoring the fact that you have to play every level twice.

The game has all of half-a-dozen enemies, which just get reskinned as you advance from one realm to another. And the game seems to drag on longer than it should for what little substance it has.

It was okay overall, but not really a hidden gem. It certainly doesn't do any justice to Ghosts 'n Goblins.

I didn't find it challenging at all. You just have to pace yourself to avoid running carelessly into cheap deaths like the ground collapsing beneath you. The only difficulty is more or less rote memorization of the stage's obstacles. The enemies are all piss-ants with weak A.I.

This game was a beast.

Blew my mind back then. Especially when I found out you can eat loads as a kid and grow into a fat teenager. Still pretty cool for a PS1 game.
