there was no such thing as nox mage in UO, there was like a single spell that inflicted poison and you could poison weapons, and the only thing poison was good in UO was blocking healing because you couldnt heal if you were poisoned, you had to cure yourself first.

Storytellers Staff in Dark Souls 3 melts Gael. Good enough for me.

a mage with no poisoning skill inflicted a really wimpy, negligible poison that was only a minor annoyance to someone bandaging
a mage with full poisoning skill inflicted full level 5 deadly poion, which was like being hit by energy bolt every 3 seconds if you weren't able to cure it in time, which was hard to do because without perfect bandage timing between ticks, the damage was so severe it would cancel said bandage

The poisoning skill on it's own was extremely good, deadly poison would kill you fucking fast if you didn't cure it. old UO is one of the only games I've played where using a fast 1 handed weapon with your offhand free was viable, and poison is mainly why.

It's pretty good in FFX. Works on most bosses. FFXIII too, I'm pretty sure I killed the final boss in it mostly with just poison.

Poison Arrows will poison 99% of enemies, even bosses, in 3-4 shots, and poison does 15 damage per tick unlike 3 damage per tick in DS1/DS3.
A build focused around poison weapons like powerstanced Spotted Whips with poison infusions, wearing the Crest of the Rat and Sanctum Soldier Gauntlets for extra poison buildup, will poison literally everything except poison-immune enemies in one L1.

I don't know what rendition of Ultima Online you played but it was clearly a later one because I don't remember these super fast bandages being able to cure poison quickly.

You can cure it pretty fast with arch cure, but it costs more mana than usual and has a longer casting meaning more chances to interrupt.

Greater Cures had a chance of curing it in one go, but if you failed you just had to keep chugging till one worked, which quickly drained your supply.

I've seen people run around with 2 kegs of greater cures to counter nox.
