They probably didn't want to have to compete with Zelda for GOTY, kek. It would be a huge blow to their reputation if it ended up having a lower metacritic score, which is almost guaranteed.

Saw it coming from a mile away, so I'm not really upset. I guess the only thing that makes me angry is when developers announce games so long before they're actually released. For all the shit Ubisoft gets, the last couple of Assassin's Creed games have been out within 5-6 months of their initial reveals, which is how it should be.

The game is finished and could be released this year, but Rockstar instead does what they always do and just use the release date for marketing to create buzz, then they delay the game. Also they probably wanted to quickly rake in some pre order dollars real quick off of people.

They don't need to do this because the game is going to sell regardless so it's pretty scummy and a waste of everyone's time.
