Absolution was definitely a turd, but Hitman 2016 is great gameplay wise. If it weren't for the always online requirement, it would probably be equal to Blood Money.

Hopefully Square Enix sells IOI and lets them keep the Hitman IP, so that way the future of the series can be even greater. They take fan feedback to heart, and if it weren't for the always online decision by SE then we most likely wouldn't have that requirement.

I don't think Hitman was ever good.

-Heavily scripted, there is no creativity in how you kill targets. It's all "what the devs intended for you to do"
-So much trial and error, saving and reloading to find the optimal routes and where the aforementioned kill events are
-Enemies are stupid and just follow the same routines over and over due to how they're scripted

There's zero appeal to these games. It doesn't stroke my ego whatsoever, I want to feel like I'm a genius assassin, but you can't when everything is so obvious and spelled out to you.
