The battle system is the absolute worst of any ff game to date, and that's saying a lot. It's literally "hold O the hit, press square occasionally to block, and spam potion to win entire game" Regardless of what weapon or enemy, it's the same shit over and over. No strategy, no timing needed, and with unskippable action cutscenes every fight. Terrible...

No it's not, it's easily one of hte best FF battle systems by far. You can tap to attack, different buttons for warpstrike, dodge rolls, jump, do aerial combos, parries, directional inputs, weapon switch on the fly, party tech commands themselves are basically the same thing as giving a command to a character in older FFs. Strategy comes from planning your buffs, weapon loadout and ascensions, there is objectively more timing needed in XV than any other FF. Every other FF has far more unskippable cutscenes than XV too.

You can get it way cheaper and even then i'd wait a few more months or a year for more updates and by then it will be even cheaper or they'll release some kind of "complete" version
