>>
>>377798304
The first playthough in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon
>>
>>377798304
there's nothing depressing about Night on the Galactic Railroad, anime or story book, if you think it's depressing you're completely missing the point of the story.
>>
>>377798494
It was my best friend.
He died.

Play SOMA.
After a playthough, you'd start questioning yourself "How many times have I died in real life without even knowing?"
>>
>>377798617
Maybe, Probably.
>>
>>377798629

damn sorry to hear that. how did he die? also you said long ago, how long ago was it?
>>
>>377798304
LISA is a fucking trip, man.

>>377798702
It would be five years ago today.
>>
>>377798748

how did it happen? and don't you think your bud would have wanted you to move on and remember him fondly but forge new friendships and be happy?
>>
>>377798837
I've done all that.
I still miss him.
>>
>>377798687

>>
Play enough video games and any will do that.

It'll feel like you're trapped in a vacation that lost it's joy years ago.

Giovanni is a lonely little boy and lacks a real father figure in his life and has to take care of his mother so he can't really play with other kids. Campanella is the only thing that keeps Giovanni from being a complete outcast and Giovanni over relies on Campanella because of this. When Campanella dies Giovanni has to make the decision that he needs to move on, he has to accepts that Campanella is dead, he can keep Campanella in his heart but if he holds onto the memory of Campanella forever he'll continue to be miserable even after his father returns. Through Campanella death Giovanni learns to depend on himself and not always use Campanella as a rock.
>>
>>377799706
I agree with that review of the plot, but I still believe a lot of people can find it sad.
Especially ones who have been through something like that.
>>
>>377799934
the whole trip on the railroad exists to show Giovanni that people do go to a better place after they die. You can be sad that Campanella is dead but you shouldn't feel depressed, that's the exact opposite message the story is supposed to convey.

It's alright to be sad when someone dies, but if you dwell on it forever it'll ruin you, remember the person and honour their memory. That being said don't allow their death consume you because they wouldn't want it that way.

There are a lot of good RPG maker games like that: Yume Nikki + fangames, LISA the First (that one left me feeling gloomy for a few days afterward), Middens/Gingiva (I felt like they were more surreal in kind of a cool, interesting way, but both games had some sad, unsettling undertones), and some of the other horror classics, like Witch's House,

One of the central themes is humanity's inability to coexist with other intelligent life. You even experience the motivations behind this when you play it, and the music is actually good unlike most of the trash AAA devs shit out today. I suppose you expect me to think of Chris-chan and change my mind every time I want to play an old Sonic game just because I like platformers, too. Those dudebros really suck, too, I should never play another R* game or FPS. I saw this really unsanitary weeaboo the other day. No more eastern games.
>>
>>377800997
I just wanted to talk about sad cats.
>>
>>377798304
For a movie with such a great message, it definitely had a really depressing tone to it. It felt very real for all the surreal shit it had going on.
