Our thoughts on Spyro 1?
Get your own opinions you literal retard
I don't know what reason 2 and 3 did away with the themed worlds for (Not counting stuff like Zephyr/Breeze Harbor)
>>377762321
Peace makers best world

Comfy as fuck
woah
they never explained what this purple stuff is
love playing it on my phone from time to time, 2nd one especially
I wanna fuck Spyro's tight tailhole and lovingly take his virginity
>>377765007
yeah second one is alright
Spyro 1 is comfy incarnate. I can go back to it any day.
Trouble with Trolley
Why was Spyro 2 called "Gateway to Glimmer" in PAL versions?
>>377761894
Its fucking great, m8
>>377765231
Because he goes through Glimmer first. It's not called "Gateway to Summer Forest" for nothing.
I think the game is verybrown
The yetis gave me nightmares
>>377765426
these guys?
>>377765353
Aside from being mentioned in a cutscene and being the tutorial level, Glimmer has no importance to the story at all. You don't call Spyro "Road to Wizard's Peak".

No, there were some yetis in a cave or something and they'ed eat you. Scared little me shitless
>>377761894
I like it the most because it keeps things simple and doesn't have tedious minigames, the game is pleasing to look at and the music is nice.

Is that stone hills in the intro to 2 and 3? Looks very much like it
>>377765903
>>377765693
The problem with the wapanese version is spyro charges slower(or that was maybe the first game)

IS IT WORKING PROFESSOR?
>>377766415
Spyro 1's music is really something else. I got the OST's on a thread a few weeks ago and many tracks of 2 and 3 I actually didn't like. Like, at all. I need to hear them in action, yet those of 1 felt right, I could be drawn to a level through its music instead of the other way around. I could even hear the planes in the pauses in Crystal Flight

>>377769416
He said spyro 1 music you fucking gnork
>>377769876
Theres an interview and the composer that says he basically played every level in spyro 1 to get a feel for how the music should be. The rhythm and tone that would fit the scene
He wasnt even good at games either
>>377769949
It sounds like it could be in 1 good enough.

While im suprised you felt that way about 2 since it was steward copeland 3 had about 2, copeland himself and some other guy i forget the name of different composers and you can tell usually.

Fucking god tier comfy music
spyro 2 lacked funny bosses
At least 4, which was a buggy, unfinished piece of crap that crippled the franchise had some nice music.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWwg5YwlLL4
>>377772461
I felt that Spyro 2 lacked a lot compared to 1 and 3
>>377761894
One of my favorite games ever. It's so solid and dreamlike.
I remember in another thread someone posted a bunch of spyro 1 skyboxes. I downloaded them all and have them as wallpapers. Good shit.

>>377777460
I loved that about Spyro 2, how every world had a counterpart. Breeze Harbor and Zephyr being at war were one of the better undertones of the game.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=csUsTcNIMig
>>377778591
I really liked how the NPCs referenced other levels, really made the whole world feel more alive and interconnected in a way the other games lacked

Destroy this feel.
>>377772461
music on this stage always made me think of busta rhymes "woo hah" song so I always subliminally thought of busta rhymes when I saw Dr. Shemp.
>>377779589
I cant imagine what it would be like at such a young age, probably left an impression.
I still think 1 is the best just because its level design is more about finding how to break the "boundaries" of a level for 100% while 2 and 3 use backtracking instead.
1>2>3>A Hero's Tail>>>>Enter the Dragonfly
Wasn't there a level that involves a skate park?
>>377780184
Skateparks show up a couple times in 3.
>>377779904
It was so beautiful. Best way I can put it is "Escapism."
It was something so magical to me. all the stages felt IMMENSE in size. Every level was like a new adventure.(I only ever got to magic crafters until I was 12)
I remember getting to the peace keepers world for the first time. feeling so amazed by the ice cavern. gliding around cliff town.. being terrified of toasty kek.. oh man if I could only play it through the eyes of a young one once again..
Spyro 1 is a masterpeice, easily my favorite game of all time.
No other game comes close to the atmosphere it pulls off
>>377780405
World 1 and 3 were so comfy. Fuck Dreamweavers though, Jacques was seriously uncomfy.
>>377769416
Isnt that this level?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpRhveZFkGk
>>377779904
Similar thoughts as >>377780253. It helps that I have a pretty heavy emotional attachment to it as I was young and it was a Christmas present from my grandfather along with a Playstation when the only other console my family had prior was a NES. So seeing all this shit was mindblowing, like the warping landscape of Magic Crafters, the dream-to-nightmare transformation of Dream Weavers, to find a secret combination and open up a crazy flying section in the very first level, and especially those crazy ramps in Tree Tops. Also the bonus worlds blowing my mind, I could really go on and on.
Every single moment was like a dream and it all felt like such a fine tuned, connected experience. I still regularly 100% it.
>>377779904
It was pure magic. The game gave just all this freedom to just glide wherever you can get to. The game hardly railroaded you and let you go about the adventure however you like. You get to a new hub and you're just let loose.
>>377780730
Spyro 1 had the best enemy placement in the games, especially the grunts and noises they make adds character
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f4IbvdqyNcQ
>never spend more than a minute in this level because its incredibly short
>always just thought the music is just ominous and that's it
>listen to it years later on Youtube

>>377780253
Sounds fantastic, similar to what SMW did for me at that age.
>>377761894
A new beginning is 100% better and is in fact the best spyro game.
>>377782161
What are you talking about? There's only three Spyro games.
>>377781621
I remember being a kid and watching my aunt play SMW .. too young to know what it was kther than mario. I learnt aboht the SNES maybe in 2000 something and the wonders of one of the greatest consoles ever. Got SMW on the gba and relived a lot of youth and the mystery of a mario so good.

>>377781493
>>377783520
fug i never realized because they took so much artistic liberty
did dragons take everything over? why are they everywhere. I feel like an old grandpa dragon rambled about being in the war
>>377783719
Dragons apparently created the world or some shit. Dream Weavers allowed people to dream, Beast Makers crated all the creatures of the world, Magic Crafters created Magic etc. Gnasty was booted out so he built his own "world" from scrap parts. They're considered legendary by the people of Avalar too (And they were all freaks so they must be hot shit)
Of course they had Television for fuck knows what is considered actually canon.
Also I just want to say is Rocko's VA > Spongebob.
>>377784137
Okay sweet.
>>377784137
>They're considered legendary by the people of Avalar too
Does that mean Spyro is apart of the elite?
>>377778478
>>377761894
Did playing Spyro 1 give anyone else anxiety as a kid? I got to like the 4th world and just couldn't go on anymore. Everything just seemed so outer spacey and claustrophobic. Never had that problem with the later games but I'm literally scared at the prospect of playing Spyro 1 again
>>377784436
The areas mid-point and on do make me feel really uneasy in a strange way. I don't know why that is.
>>377784436
>I got to like the 4th world and just couldn't go on anymore. Everything just seemed so outer spacey and claustrophobic
You'd love the 5th world.. It's trippy as shit.
>>377784436
Any enemy that could turn huge out of nowhere for me That shit straight terrified me as a kid, especially the one in the dark. Oh and fucking Jacques. I had to stop playing there at first when I was young, I could fight through the rest.
>>377784436
That was my favorite homeworld the most, Copeland really caught the feel of the level with that "HOOOH OOH WOOH" noise in the music. The best thing I liked about it was the enemies, they got futuristic stuff on like mohawks and headphones ready to electrocute the floor.
>>377784613
I honestly don't "like" the later levels. Don't get me wrong they're fucking magnificent but I enjoyed the pleasant hills and deserts to the Acrophobes nightmare that is Dreamweavers/Magic Crafters or the dingy swamp.
But I really did like the Machinists (Gnasty's) World. Gnorc Cove was my jam and I'm glad Breeze Harbor is sort of a spiritual successor to it.
Why do you keep making these threads?
>>377786197
because they make nostalgiafags like myself feel happy

Those organs and bells really are the most integral part of Spyro music.Lets not forget that bass guitar
