Ok, so hear me out guys.
The whole game is about loss: the destruction of Motherbase, Miller's lost limbs, Medic's loss of identity, Quiet's loss of clothes, etc
Alright, so you're Medic and Medic is Big Boss. But all this game you, Big Boss, the man who lost everything, haven't felt like you lost anything at all. So what was the best way to make the player fell loss? Removing a part of the game, robbing the player of a finished game. The feelings of anger many players felt was actually what Kojima wanted.
This game is truly a masterpiece.
