It's basically Dissipation, order your pet away to summon Bahamut for 20 seconds with access to multiple Death Flare's.

Lots of role skill changes. No more raging strikes, casters can restore 20% MP to a selected party member, tanks get shadewalker.

Healers damage now scales off MND instead of INT and cleric stance is now a cooldown for 10% more damage.

Bard and machinist no longer have cast times

Parry stat is removed. Replaced with tenacity; raises damage and lowers damage received

Accuracy is removed. Replace with direct hit stat. Mini crits that that happen more reliably. Only dps gear will have it.

Paladin's shield can now block magic instead of just physical, they have an aoe attack and a new defensive cooldown that gives them 100% block rate and reduces damage by 15% to everybody in a cone behind them.

Stuff like stone I-IV now auto upgrade and only take 1 skill slot instead of needing one for each ability

Summoner can temporarily summon Bahamut for like 20 secs after activating dreadwyrm trance twice.

PVP was completely rehauled and only uses a few abilities Positions removed for it.

More stuff but it's hard to remember everything. The live letter was 4 hours long.

The damage numbers now for a level 70, i290 Fell Cleave are roughly half the damage of a well-geared Warrior's Fell Cleave at level 60 in HW.

But now, you can do 5 Fell Cleaves. 4 Fell Cleaves roughly equal a double Fell Cleave from HW, but you would need to pull of Six Fell Cleaves to equal a triple Fell Cleave from today.

You're overestimating how much TA is. It's 1.6%, technically more since proper usage puts it during burst phases, say 2%. Assuming Stormblood raid dps is like 25k, then it's like +500. While that's a pretty big chunk, MNK getting their own phys buff means that NIN more or less needs alot more to stay compeititve. With Goad and threat management being spread out across all roles, NIN's power is the shakiest amongst the melee at the moment.

They're made invulnerable basically. Still unsure if they will replace DRK since we saw very little of DRK in practice, but as a MT they no longer have weakness against magic. Plus now they have DRK's low blow and reprisal, meaning theres even less of a gap between their utility and damage. Prog meta will always be either DRG/ranged/caster/melee. RDM sharing gear with caster and SAM sharing gear with MNK means that these roles will be fighting for the same slot. No one is going to run MCH/BRD and no one ran that in 3.4 as well because you have 3 sets of dex accessories to get, with the NIN there too. Not only that, there have always been a high chance of at least one caster mechanic per tier even from coil. Creator is the only one where there are no caster specific mechanics.

The thing is NIN in 3.4 also had Shadewalker and Smoke which were dps gains in their own right by allow earlier dropping of tank stances as well as Goad for classes that could spam them like MCH/DRG in fights like Zurvan.

In 4.0, NIN will have none of that except for TA while MNK is getting their own Phys damage up. Even if the buff is a measly 5% or something, the dps NIN needs to keep up with MNK after losing their threat cds/Goad is much more.

Actually having WM/GB off in HW is a DPS gain, if none of your oGCDs come off CD while it's off. It's common for MCHs to turn it off. BRD it's a bit of a risk but still happens when they know they need to move.

Now though BRD and MCH are strictly better than SMN/BLM since they never lose any DPS to anything ever, besides dying, and they won't die since they can freely move without losing any DPS.

A SMN is as mobile as any ranged when they want to be and BLM's class changes basically makes it so that they can output their Oniichan dps even if they fuck it up with movement.
