The Last of Us is my favorite game followed by Half-Life 2 and Ocarina of Time.
I've played through Human Revolution five or six times but have no intention of even touching the original.

Most of the titles I looked forward to ended up not being fun or not lasting long enough to warrant their price. I'm not out and out saying video games are complete shit, but I will say I don't find them as worth it as they once were. The bar was raised greatly over the years and no one is really attempting to even attempt to reach up to it it seems, and outside of very specific communities that love everything and downvote those who do not you can tell that a lot of others feel the same. I'm not asking for super mega graphics or the best story written, but an attempt would be nice. For me, at least I find joy in killing the bosses and exploring. I love how Souls just gives you the freedom to explore wherever, so long as it isn't obstructed by anything. No objectives, just mindless wandering. The dying process makes the feeling of accomplishment even better when you kill a boss, and you realize that it was all because of your skill.
Also the feeling of being completely alone in Souls-like games and how atmospheric they can be make it even better.

I want to stop giving a shit about vidya so I can focus and actually do the work to get money,

I don't find Dark Souls' difficulty to be genuinely fun or interesting. Sluggish movement and attacks along with the roll mechanic means you just roll until you get the perfect attack opportunity. It'll take 3+ seconds to hit a single time so battles go on forever, increasing the chance you'll die anyway. It's like a wow boss fight. Make fights long enough to increase the odds of mistakes.

Dark Souls III and Bloodborne really stepped up the boss fights. What kind of game do you like boss fights in? Just figure that out, buy one and play it for a few hours over the weekend to see how you feel. If you were ever into WoW, that'll be neat to get back into with all the new expansions. Uh, I doubt you have a PS4 if you haven't been playing anything, but that's where most of my recommendations form this year have come from. On PC there's NieR, but that is apparently having some performance issues. Dishonored 2 last year was rather good if you're into that kind of game. Dark Souls III if you liked the original. The thing that would fuck me up the most is the streaming for hours on end with no viewers which would make me quit and ignore it for a long time. I eventually got over that and realized if you ever want to be anything in that area you NEED to treat it like a full or part time job and stream whenever/however long you feel you can and have it be regular.

if you're going for the little to no talking route then you need to fill that gap with something. Whether it be streaming games that are fun to watch/that you are good at. or if you choose a single "main" game like Overwatch or CSGO you better damn well make sure you're pretty good and actually believe in your skills.

I'm kind of the same way. I talk, but not much. I mainly stream overwatch and I main Zarya. But I make sure I am pretty fucking good with her and I feel that I am. With almost 100 hours logged with her I damn well better be good and i still manage to get viewers who enjoy seeing me play because its still fun for alot to see someone do good at something. But in the end, you still need to semi engage with your viewers so you can be a total no commentary type of guy.

Also, expand your streaming bases. Don't just stream to twitch. Stream on youtube and wherever else you can think of and try to link others to your main like Twitch or Youtube. I use other things that arn't so saturated as well. Such as using this app called "Bigo Live" that allows you to stream vidya (as long as you have a smartphone to connect to). While it's filled with alot of foriengers, there are still alot of legit viewers that will watch you and some may even move over to your main page to watch you.

I want to play lots of Japanese games on PS3 and PS4. JRPGS, mmorpgs like Monster Hunter, Final Fantasy, PSO or games like Hatsune Miku, Touhou, you name it.

Problem is I don't even know proper Japanese yet. I spent a lot of time learning recently, and I can understand the language somewhat now, e.g. in Anime, but I cant read fucking Kanji yet, and games are basically Kanji orgies.

My favorite games ever are the Batman: Arkham games. For every session of Bloodborne, i play 10 of Arkham Knight. My physical copy of Arkham Knight for PS4 now crashes all the time, and i'm tempted to buy it again digitally, so i can play it non-stop. I don't think the older Resident Evil games have held up well from a gameplay perspective. Tank controls don't irritate me, but static camera angles do. 4 still feels fine to play because the camera is always behind you, so pushing forward actually makes you walk fucking forward instead of walking to the southeast side of the screen.

I don't care about story if a game isn't fun to play. You could have the most captivating story and lore, but it the gameplay is hot trash then all I'll be able to think about is how I'd rather be playing anything else.

I don't mind MGSV. It's more fun to actually play than MGS4 is to watch.

Final Fantasy X is probably my favorite in the series, 9 being close behind.

I don't think Demon's Souls sucks, but I do think it is horrendously overrated and I'd rather play any other Souls game if given the option to choose.

The gameplay is Silent Hill games is legendary for being bad, and nothing after Silent Hill 1 was even frightening because they kept rehashing the same themes. Enemies are mostly easy to outrun or dodge and the bosses are always complete pushover until you get to Homecoming and then the boss fights are comparitively hard ans frustrating as shit.

I dropped Dark Souls 1.
After I beat the Capra Demon and started going into The Depths, the game was way too trial and error with its level design and mistake punishment for my liking.

This, I hate it so fucking much. In RTS I either feel rushed to try overcome my opponent, or I turtle like a motherfucker. I really like base builders and city builders, so I just focus on building up my base because it's the most fun part of the game. I don't even want to fight, I just want to slowly expand my bases. Turn-based strategy is so boring, I've beaten quite a few JRPGs and I don't get the meme about why the combat is so good. If a game takes more than 2 hours to become enioyable, it's not a good game, you just have stockholm syndrome. The Souls Games in general are the fucking Radiohead of vidya. I played the original doom when I was 24 and I couldnt stand it. I honestly cant comprehend why anyone liked the fucking mazes that took for ever to get through or the general lack of ammo.
I honestly think the new doom is way better when it comes down to gameplay, it has more mobility (you can jump and there is a lot if space to move around in). Its actually pretty fast as long as you are good at dodging and dont need to glory kill that often. The music fits the fucking mood perfectly and moste of all. Its about the combat, in the original its more about trying to find your way around the maze, in the new one your fighting something or doing some platforming but never are you fucking lost because of teleporter puzzels.

I said most, I certainly had a few stumbles, but I really didn't feel it was any harder than any other action adventure game out there. Hell, I think I died more times in Witcher 3 than I did Dark Souls, then again I played on that bullshit difficulty. For some reason I really didn't seem to have an issue getting into the Dark Souls formula, it is just timing after all. I played Dota 2 for about 5000 hours. I didn't even enjoy most of it, I was just addicted as fuck. Then i finally had an epiphany about how garbage the game and my life was and uninstalled it. I burned out so hard that i can't manage to play any vidya games for more than half an hour now.

That's why I dislike saints row. It is fun to fuck around in for 20 minutes but it gets boring after that. That's why I have 10 hours in SR3 and have 180 hours in gta5 singleplayer

I've cleared Serious Sam 2 HD up until Mordecai and I can't be arsed to finish it.

I might drop playing through Dark Souls again because of not playing it for a while. This would be the 4th time I've played through midway the game and dropped it. We'll see.

I've been getting into the habit of looking up shit I get stuck on in vidya (before moving on with the story), even though I used to be strictly against it.

I have never gotten a console after PS3 because I don't want to pay for online.

Who ever thought that's a good idea? Last thing I want is Steam/GOG to have monthly/yearly subscription and I'll probably quit playing vidya forever
