I mean sure, that's one way to look at it. If you look needlessly large zones with pointless "collect X of Y" quests and missions. One thing amazed me is just how short DAI was with maybe 10-12 hours of proper story in there.

Yes the side quests were generic but I skipped every quest I didn't have to do, and the even though the main plot dropped the ball really hard, it played around with some interesting concepts and I'd love to see the DA series further explore that direction.

Iron Bull is great if you don't try to romance him, which is admittedly a very dumb bit. Dorian is also a great character and him being gay is nowhere near as forced as you're trying to make it. Seras is the worst character and a crazy angry lesbian but none of that pronoun shit is involved. It only comes up with the Iron Bull follower who's just a chick being a dude. If you want to complain about character, you should be complaining about black Maleficent having zero proper focus in the story and even in her own companion quest, which is just a barebones fetch quest you can purposefully fail for no reason.

What people should complain about is the terrible scale of the game. Stupidly large for no good reason, an entire section and multiple areas of the other are completely unused in the main plot and full of nothing but busy work. You constantly have to go back to your main base to do stuff you shouldn't be having to do or should easily be able to do from the field. Just send a fucking note.
