Holy jesus. I didn't think they even sold computers with 960's anymore. You might be able to play some 2014 stuff at 1080p with 60fps with the settings turned down. You can't even justify tossing a new gpu in there either, since that cpu is junk.

Either get a 1060 or buy a used 970. Either one will get you better performance than a 1050 Ti.

>>
>>377725105
Well I would suggest to buy GTX 1060 even 3gb since there is not many games out there that can use even those 3gb of ram if you aim for around 60fps on high/ultra at 1080p. I use it myself and it's just fine. Ofcourse if you are fine with 30-45 fps and to cut the price then I guess 1050 ti is fine as well.

AMD beats Nvidia out on the low end which is what you were asking for. 1050ti is not midrange, 480/580 or 1060 is midrange.
>>
If all I want is 1080 and 60 fps (2 screens), is i5 7600k and RX 580 overkill?
Also I feel like 60 fps is high enough for me, I dont play competitive FPS online nor do I plan on having an amazing screen. Is the jump from 1080p to 1440p too expensive right now?
Any reason to get over 8Gb RAM if all I do is play a game and watch twitch at the same time?

>asking /v/ for tech advice

If you need the multitasking from an i7, a Ryzen R7 is better. If you don't, an i5 or R5 is better.

As for GPU, wait for Computex to see what AMD says about Vega. If they give a launch date I'd wait and see, otherwise get a 1070 or 1080, whichever you can afford.

Unless you care about not supporting anticonsumer companies, in which case stay the fuck away from Intel and nVidia.

>>377728616
/v/ is full of intel and nvidia fanboys, which is partly why you shouldn't ask this shithole for tech advice. Read/watch reviews, look at benchmarks, get the CPU that best suits your needs.

Jesus Fucking Christ. No, he's not right at all and the 1060 is not exactly a budget card. That'd be 1050 or 470.

Cards are not made for specific resolutions, you just need a 1070 at the very least to be able to run 1440p reliably for modern games, but that doesn't mean that a game running on 1080p doesn't hugely benefit from a stronger GPU.

Can't blame them for taking advantage of retards too dumb to install a fucking GPU.
>>
>>377729237

lol I have one and a 4160 i3 not even a good CPU and I can play Doom, Overwatch, ect on ultra/epic, 60fps at 1080p. Turning a few settings down I can get well over 100fps stable on Overwatch which I do because I have a 144hz monitor.

Don't listen to AMD retards. They have buyers remorse and don't want to be alone in their misery. I had an AMD gpu and switched from it because there are known issues with many popular games that go unfixed for months, years in some cases. Artifacts, fucked up textures. After I switched I haven't had any issues.

There's no way in hell I'll ever be convinced to switch to an AMD CPU, don't care how much more powerful and how much cheaper it is.
>>
>>377738525
You're thinking of the 1060, with its 3GB and 6GB variants. The 960 is a card from 2014, and has 4GB VRAM. Even the 1060 isn't good enough for high settings at 1440p.
>>
>>377738421
I can't remember exactly how it was, but one of the parts was discounted, either the cpu itself or the combi of cpu, mobo, psu etc.
2013 was a good year to buy a new PC.

I have a AMD A10 Extreme edition Radeon R8, 4C+8g processor and for gpu's I have AMD Radeon R8 M365DX and a R7 Graphics.

Why the fuck can't I get paladins at 60 fps with everything turned down? Also why the fuck do I get this no matter how I install the drivers

Nah bruh

For a gaming pc a rx 470 is the BARE minimum

Upwards from that is rx 480/1060

Get an R7 1700, an X370 board, and Vega when it comes out.
>>377739256
I really hope this is bait. If it isn't, your cpu is garbage and you don't seem to have a discreet GPU at all. See above for recommended upgrade.
>>
>>377739256
Makes sure youre downloading for the proper OS, also from your comment it seems your running a mobile AMD apu which isn't ever going to do amazing
>>
>>377723607

This thread is bait. No one is stupid enough to spend 1049 EUR on a garbage pre-built that has a shitty out dated 960 in it.
>>
>>377739256
you should get DDU and then reinstall drivers
>>
>>377738967
When I bought mine in early 2015, a AM3+ 970 + 8350 was 240€, while a 4690k was 240€ alone, not counting the more expensive Z97 board (about 130€ for a decent one at the time)

quad cores are memes now
>>
>>377739825
NO
That is a 7 year old processor, and it wasn't even high-end when it launched. You can get a better pc for free from an office, school, or library if they happen to be upgrading, just add a 750Ti for like $80 and you'll have a PC that beats the PS4.
>>
>>377738886
correction, it has 3.5gb ram
>>
>>377739494
Unfortunately its not.

>>377739524
It is mobile, and I've tried everything from AMD's auto tool to calling someone to help. Nothing helps at this point, about to sell out and give some spazz 30 bucks at Best Buy to help.

>>377739586
Did that, no help.
>>
>>377723607

I seriously hope your shitposting OP, because you got fucked in the ass
>>
>>377740435
Sell that shit and build a pc. It's clearly a lost cause.
>>377740375
You're thinking of the 970, with its 3.5GB+0.5GB VRAM. The 960 actually delivered.
>>
>>377740435
My best suggestion is finding an old version of the driver, also when your installing there is an option somewhere during the instillation to clean install. The name for this varies but it should clean up any old instillation files before installing.
>>
>old setup with an i3 and gtx760
>shitty 1440x900 screens, now only connected to a 720p tv with burnt-in screen
>everything you ever want to play runs flawlessly at 60fps with maxed-out settings, sans resolution

then again, I rarely play AAA titles, it's mostly old shit, indies or vidya with relatively non-taxing graphics, so yeah. Never been interested in graphics-heavy games other than for the initial eyecandy that wears off in an hour.
>>
>>377740718
I wish.... I really do but I cant afford it. Start a new job tomorrow.
>>
For 1440p, would 1080 be enough or would 1080ti be the minimum?
>>
>>377741327
1070 would probably be the minimum I might be wrong though
>>
>>377741305
Save up as much as you can every week, before you know it you'll have an R7 1700 and a Vega 10.
>>
>>377741327
>>377741464
1070 should have no problem doing 60fps at 1440p
