Not really. Could probably develop a more dense battery though, or wait for the battery packs that will hook up to the usb c port and strap to the back.

Battery isn't really user-replaceable though (not like it's hard, but you need the odd triple point screwdriver and open the whole thing and unpin the cables, so you are probably voiding the warranty a few times, which means the former idea probably doesn't sound too marketable for Ninty.

Latter could work though, few accessory makers are already working on theirs, so if it takes off I am sure they will make an official one or just take money for putting the Nintendo Seal on one of the existing ones.

I do wonder about longevity of the battery though, it's getting topped up often, many probably keep it on the dock when not in use (and it still does do stuff in the sleep mode, even downloads and patches, so it keeps draining and charging), works and charges at higher voltage and amperage than your usual phone cell and Nintendo already said they will do paid replacement (with you sending it in, since again, it's not intended to be replaced by the user).

On the hardware front, it's incredibly snappy and versatile, playable on TV, on the go, and via LAN. Plus, local multiplayer is literally built into the system. On the software front, it's already hosted two of the best games I've ever played, including the very best I've ever played. And with lot of indies, Japanese A and AA games, and Nintendo support (consolidated for the first time in a long time) on the way, the library should be extraordinary. It's basically a 3DS, WiiU, and Vita (minus Sony first-party) combined.

It needs Youtube and a web browser. Maybe a Discord app too

I think this is going to be the real killer.

Right now the switch is hot thanks to Nostalgia. They released it earlier than they said they would in order to cash in on Pokemon's 20th anniversary + the NES mini making people nostalgic. As soon as the Nostalgia dies, there's a good chance the Switch will.

The only thing that could save it is some stellar games, but as he already said, it's right now basically just some ports of old games and one Zelda title that also is on Wii U. I have the Wii U version: the differences are too minor to bother dropping $400+ on a switch and gear for said switch.

It's just not worth it as things stand right now.
