People are realizing they should wait til the inevitable expansions come out.

Civilization V sucked so hard half the players fled to Paradox, so people don't wanna buy VI.

I still only play Civ 4

Gameplay is only better in a few ways
But Gameplay is worse in a lot other ways
Garbage DLC system with them releasing overpriced civs instead of actual content DLC
People already hated the retard AI in CIV V and they somehow managed to make it even worse in CIV VI

Buying "Civ: New Earth" or whatever the fuck it was called (at full price) was a huge personal mistake. I will wait until its on sale and has all DLC available

i see that you're pretty young so i'll explain it to you
civilization is shit until they release a few expansions for it
when civ 4 came out, everyone was saying that it's shit and 3 is much better
then a couple expansions later, people loved 4
the same happened with 4 and 5
and as you can see, it is happening with 5 and 6

No reason to lay down 60 dollars for less content than Civ 5 plus whatever the 3-4 expansions will cost. Plus some of the leader choices were terrible.

Its too casual for people that like grand strategy but too complex and slow for twitchy casual type gamers. Its too daunting a topic for people who don't like that sort of thing.

When computers couldn't crunch complicated numbers ala paradox titles now civ was the best you could get. But civ has gone for streamlined gameplay and pretty graphics.

So civ will forever be a gateway grandstrategy title. Until you graduate up to other, more complex games.
