No joke, watching anti-Spoony videos is making me get up and seek help. I'm 28 and depression has ruined my life. Every job I've had I've lost because I'd relapse and take weeks off sick. Every hobby I've had I've given up on because I convinced myself I'm not good enough. I've lost all my friends from withdrawing completely from life.

Last week I watched a video ragging on Spoony for letting his fans down and I realised how many people I've let down being so self-absorbed in my own issues over the years. I'm finally going to the doctor today to get help and ask for therapy.

Sorry for the blog, it was just on my mind how much Spoony inspired me to... not be like Spoony lately.

Gearwhoring kills a ton of YouTube channels. They start off with simple equipment, get some success, then upgrade equipment too fast so they barely understand how to use the gear or the work gets too complex.

I have a small 500+ sub YouTube channel and my early videos were just me in front of a webcam, they got a ton of views. Then I tried to up the production quality with an expensive camera, audio recorder, condenser mic. It adds so much more work to the process the videos come out really stale I feel. I'm making a new channel and going back to simple editing and gear so I can focus on the content, which is what people care about. Not the camera you use or the mic etc.
