Is it just me or is this game a lot harder than it should be.

The Witcher games are ways a little too hard in the beginning and too easy at the end.

You got the dodge button anon, use it. Just quick dodge everything since he can actually cancel attacks to dodge, and roll away from anything big like the scream. Hell, if its too hard, just use the mind spell to stun and then take the chance to go ham

That's because it takes a fair bit amount of time to git gud. Kinda like old video games.

Once you've mastered the combat, you can do a perma-level 1 run with no problem.

Game is too easy for me.
Roll/dodge is the foolproof way to avoid damage especially against enemies that attack relentlessly but if you time your spells/bombs well you can actually interrupt the attack animation.
