Don't know why this is a meme.
such a meh parody.
>New Simpsons has to resort to referencing memes like Mr Bones Wild Ride and Grand Dad to stay relevant
Shit like this makes me want the internet to stop existing.
> Western cartoon does a """"parody"""" of anime
> It's always something super irrelevant like Astro Boy, or a video game like Street Fighter instead
Who even watches the Simpsons anymore? How the fuck do these shows stay alive?

Yeah the audience would much rather prefer a Dragon Maid reference. How about a throwback to the Love Live sorry in Gumball where the characters save their school in a comedy drama episode? Or, how about Star Versus has a Tokyo Ghoul scene. Yeah that makes more sense, SAO and Oreimo. Why can't the oldies catch up?

>he brings up 80's anime and Video Games
>they counter with stupid "you want them to use current stuffs lolz?"
>forget that people who are watching things now were around when toonami was a thing
There is no excuse for them to use outdated or just plain wrong genres for parody. Just because it's a parody don't mean that don't have to try. THey could have used Cowboy bebop, outlaw star, tenshi, DBZ even (mainstream shit) or anything else from the late 90's to mid 00's, but they didn't/don't because fuck doing something new lets redo the same shit one more time.
