R YAU GOING TO SHOOOT MEY ?
Weird that a secret USMC ship disguised as a regular freighter had a magazine rack full of Japanese publications.

MGS2 is literally "little cool shit you'd never notice in one playthrough" the game. Once I found out about that ice physics shit I knew Kojima was not spending his staff's time efficiently, even if it is cool.
>>377670082
Fucking weeb
>>377670082
Is it, though?
I AM THE LAW!
>>377670082
Weird that the US Military started making Bipedal Robots to shoot nuclear missiles when they already had technology to do it more efficiently.

>little cool shit you'd never notice in one playthrough
That's actually pretty good

>AI
>Physics
No such thing, it's a play on timers and scripted events.
So is there anyone here who got 100% of the dog tags? I only got enough for infinite ammo/stealth camo in both the Tanker and Plant, it's fun to mess around with those.

Last time i played mgs2in april 30thI found out that when you throw explosives at bugs in first person, some of the bugs are sent flying into the camera and leave a lot of white stuff on it.
>First time playing MGS2 right after beating 1
>Accidentally trigger an alert phase, run into a room and hide in a vent assuming I'm 100% safe
>mfw seeing the clearing window pop up`
>attempted a no kill run
>forgot to get the tranquilizing sniper rifle

Dumb shit like this is why I keep replaying MGS

It's the exact same joke, surprisingly.

Funny thing is that they seem to have infinite range to splat on your face
I tried this when you have to run back to the computer room after sniping Vamp. Stinger the bugs from across the entire hallway and the bugs still fly on your face after a 3 second or so delay.

I played MGS to death so i know a lot of the cool shit.
some you might know
If you enter the hold 3 from the vents you can see ocelot near ray, you can shoot near him and he gets spooked
you can send ocelot lots of different pics and he comments on specific ones.
if you throw a guy off the tanker or get caught the pic of the cypher shows your pic later in a big shell cutscene.
if you got no alerts etc it just has words.
there is a rubber duck and a statue of raven in the strut E water.
spraying the coolant on the mirrors generates condensation
if you go the other way after leaving stillman to find the bombs you can see snake crawling on the strut bridge in a box, you can shoot the box off but he has another one underneath and he sanics it away (and iirc you get an alert)
there are loads more I bet I would remember them as I played the game.
>>377670464
I got 100% dog tage in the original and in substance, and I 100% all VR missions.
I also filled my PS2 mem card with max photos for both games.
I played that game so much as a teen
>>377682521
never seen that one

if you aim the camera up where the seagulls are in strut A they shit on you
>>377682714
I've known this stuff for years. I remember finding these on any site like gamefaqs.
>Shooting Vamp in the bullet holes, causing more damage and a different sounding scream from him.
>Hidden wires you can climb and shimmy across in the Tanker with all the Marine soldiers
>Raiden getting more and more impatient if you keep calling for Ames on the wrong people
>R3 I think? While looking at Jennifer with the mic in the hostage room will make him say 3 numbers, probably her measurements.
>Teaching the parrot to say "You must be Ames"
>Guards staring at a girl's poster if you leave the locker open after being spotted
>>377676610

>>377683281
>Hidden wires you can climb and shimmy across in the Tanker with all the Marine soldiers
same in the engine room, you can skip the entire engine room through the wires.
you need to get level 2 iirc for the holds.
desu though senpai, I found all these things out myself by laying so much. I'm pretty sure MGS2 is the single game I have spent the most time on, and I have played shit loads of vidya.
internet wasn't as accessible as it is then too, I got my cheats and tips from magazines in those days
>>377669942
why does american soldier use ruskie gear?
>>377670337
that's what AI is for all intensive purposes
>>377683590
funny. 2 feels so empty to me. must've played through it 4 times but I still barely remember a thing about it. 3 on the other hand is packed chock full of goodies.
>>377683618
That is a Russian soldier, he's one of the guys sent by Ocelot to take control of the vessel.

FTFY
>>377677851
Kek'd at pic related
>>377676610
They definitely take some getting used to. I appreciate that MGS uses almost EVERY button in a myriad of ways. For pressure sensitive scenarios it helps to SLOWLY EASE OFF the button.
>>377683902
3 was a progression is someways but bloated in others. the story was terrible and the camo/heal/psych system means we had to spend most time in the menus.
I don't remember it having great or unique physics and easter eggs or attention to detail as 2 did.
In the end, unironically, 4 is the best of them all in that department.
