I do remember one time playing SNES in my room to have my mom yell for me at the foot of our home's stairs, my dad holding her down with her arms behind her back, with her screaming for me to help her.

I found out later that she pulled a knife on my dad, and he subdued her. After that my mother pretty much abused me daily (she thought I betrayed her by not being involved and that I was a ratfink because I told my father the insane shit she would tell me) This lasted until she went even more crazy and ran off years later. Last I talked to her she told me none of what happened to me ever happened and that I should just "get over it because it was just child abuse and I'm an adult now".
