He is so much easier to play as mainly because all his melee attacks are long ranged so I can keep my distance while 2b needs to hug the enemy for most of her combos.

This was my main complaint with playing as 9S. Having to catch enemies unaware in order to control/subjugate was a really shitty decision.

You want to let go of square around when your attack is connecting. Do it too late and you'll taunt. Do it too early and you'll do nothing
It's pretty easy to get the timing down with bracers. Small swords are a little more difficult.

9S is pretty broken.
His light attack charge spear is broken with charge attack chip.
