if the dev time spent on chalices was used on the main game, and if the performance was good then bb would win easily
bb's combat also suffers from r1spam syndrome because of the "broken limb" mechanic, resulting in casses like paarl where you can keep him grounded the whole fight by r1 mashing a leg then switching to the other and repeating
des/das1 gameplay is clunky and unrefined compared to bb/das3, they also have worse mobs and bosses. "atmosphere" and "world design" don't counteract that

yeah, doesnt matter that its world building and level design is shit and ultra linear, the lore is inferior, the atmosphere is lacking, the game looks like washed out eye cancer that literally hurts your eyes after a while, the game has an uninspired rehashed feel that tries to thrive off DaS1 nostalgia rather than do its own thing, the invasion system blows, and the whole thing is pretty much completely devoid of replay value.

Bloodborne is the best game I've ever played and I'm a faggot Nintendo freak who bought Wii U at launch, enjoyed Nintendo Land as if it was a revolution in gaming(Zelda bow mini game was fun lol).

BB is fucking perfect. The feeling, the lore, the atmosphere. Phenomenal. These motherfuckers were on some serious alcohol/weed/LSD when creating these levels. They're genius, provocative, beautiful.

Dark Souls 3 is the one that's too fast and spammy, they literally by BB-tier enemies in a Dark Souls game. Near unlimited rolling with how quick stamina regens and moving while estus. Also how powerful long swords are. Game was complete spam R1 to win.

And this is obviously a soft, person to person interpretation, but I like DeS because of the way it made me feel at the time of playing it. When I played DeS, I had no thoughts in my head about 'what were the designers thinking' or 'this is so different from the prior game' - it was a foreign land, with foreign gameplay, and it consistently offered me new things as I stumbled my way through it.

Latria is an oppressive dark nightmare, fighting another player by surprise upon reaching Old Monk was something nobody expected. Dragon God was a straight puzzle boss, but one that was understandable and not frustrating while offering the chance to kill a fuckhuge dragon. Storm King was another monster of scope, and taking it down with Storm Ruler hasn't been replicated since. The swamp didn't have an easy solution like in every other souls game, which to me made it the best - it was a miserable shit hole, and the game made you experience it, and then waltz in and murder a benevolent saint.

Basically, it was a lot of people's first, and the feelings it generated really can't be replicated again in the same series.

People said kirkhammer was impossible to win with and I did it on the fucking first playtrogh
No word on pvp, never liked the pvp on the soul series(I think it more like an "addon"than something that forms the core of the game)but still, every weapon i tried has been good. its not like Das were a lot of weapons were incredibly shit.

Also, i think Des is that low becase not so many played it.
Its not perfect, and has too many articifial difficulty moments(too many deadly traps you have no chance of seein)but it was the first, and when it came out it was astounding and remade the genre.
