I like treating my games like books and stacking them on a shelf, I also like that "new game smell".
This will soon be a distant memory.
>buying games
>ever

Collect them while you still can. I only have physicals for games I really like.
>>377649956
You're a little late. This has been a concern of mine since I noticed physical copies stopped coming with booklets. I also don't have decent internet where I live. 30gb data limit through my phone isn't going to cut it.
its because companies are treating games as less of a product and increasingly more as a service
In the future there will be no hard copies of anything, including people.
>>377649956
That's nonsense, though. There will always be physical copies of games because people demand it.
>>377649956
It have already happened you mong, only consolefags have discs now
>>377649956
Special/collectors/whatever companies call it editions exist so no, that won't happen. Why charge $60 when I can throw in stupid accessories and artbooks to drive up the price?

>any amount of demand is a guarantee that something will be available
LOL
I like having physical games
one reason is that I usually get them cheaper than digital
another reason is I'm old and resistant to change
for PC though you basically have to go digital and it has it's advantages
I wouldn't buy something like pic related because that's just fucking stupid

You do realize that eliminating physical games means eliminating an entire industry? Goodbye gamestop and every other store that relies on physical game sales in their stores and websites.
It's not going to happen. There will always be plenty of people who like collecting physical games like myself.
>>377649956
a memory I never had to begin with
>>377649956
I've been hearind that shit for the past 30 years and it's still not happening.
Same shit for 3D, VR and anything cloud based.
>>377649956
Same anon. Saddens me everyday.
>>377649956
Then I won't fucking buy them until I've pirated them and am satisfied.
If I'm not happy with it, they don't get one red cent.
Yea, I miss physical PC games that actually came with discs that could be installed without Steam.
>>377649956
that's what everyone thought when books were sold as files on i-pads
nowadays books are more popular than ever, same shit with music discs
physical will never die because it's in the human nature to gift spirit to inanimate objects to attach themselves to, a game bought digitally will be played a lot less than a physical one, I can testify this sentiment
