How the fuck does an in-cabin issue change whether or not the ground crew do maintenance and fuel the aircraft? When you're boarding or sitting on a flight you don't even interact with the ground crew.

The jet was fueled normally before take off, however after being delayed 30 minutes to find a videogame they would no longer be able to meet their mid-point refueling destination prior to midnight. The pilot mistakenly thought that they would still be able to make it to their final destination without the refueling, but that turned out to not be the case.

Geez. Air traffic controller here. Me and my friends studied this case since we started our career. The pilot was in the wrong since the begining. He should have his fight plano canceled since there were a lot of things wrong with it, like, nobody files with the aircraft's endurece lower than the lenght planned to cross.
