in this situation, your choices are either sonic 06, or sonic boom rise of lyric, for the sole reason that those are the two games in the series that don't fundamentally work, and when there are multiple aspects of your game that are objectively flawed to the point of being almost impossible to play as intended, that puts you at a very, very low place compared to the rest of the series

It was a bad game. In fact, that's why it's the worst. Because games like 06 and Boom are such tire fires that there's giant fountains of hilarious bullshit you can do in them (admittedly less so in boom, especially post-patch, but still) Heroes is just plain bad, and in a boring way.

Sonic Advance 1 is up there.

at its core you have an okay game, and the only thing keeping you from a moderate sonic game experience is the rushed aspects (load times, bugs). the only thing it lacks is polished, and even then its still a good game

you can argue that its shit due to bugs, but again, bugs are solely optional to tolerate in that game (some minor exceptions)

Labyrinth is not at all bad if you play it entirely by spindashing, only using Sonic's slow ass run to angle your dashes. Far better game than 3D Blast and fun for speedrunning.

Worst is probably Sonic Blast for GG, Sonic Spinball for anything non-Genesis, and Sonic Drift. Drift 2 is passableish.

Also Riders defense force - other than the spinning analog sticks like a madman, this shit was sick when you got the hang of it. I blew at it at first but you get the hang of it. The designs and art for this thing are how Sonic should've gone - this and Battle did far better redesigns than Boom, and dat intro movie. Can't speak for Zero Gravity as I haven't played it, but Free Riders ensures it's never coming back.

They're mostly garbage anyway. The franchise's main games have more shit than good games by now.

I wish there was another anime. Sonic x was so close to being good but since the japs are autistic virgins, they need a human character to connect with as they can't connect to stories with animals. I liked how it was a retelling of the adventure games stories, and season 3 with the deep space odyssey and cosmo was bae.

Sonic boom is just more unfunny western garbage, lacking the slapstick, insults from robotnik, and funny sidekicks that AOTSH had. A shame that the comics are ending, I started enjoying those as well. Since there have been no sonic games worth playing since 2011, i have binged on other media and some of it is really solid.

Boom's problem (for me at least) is that it feels like it's too afraid to be a little ambitious (which of course is Sonic as a franchise's biggest problem). It's "safe" in the sense that it's just comedic and when it is, it makes the usual jab at the fandom or franchise.
Writers seem afraid that if they give it even a little on going plot of some sort it'll turn out like Underground, X or SaTAM. So it's trying to be "AoStH: Boom Edition" but it doesn't really capture that humorousness of AoStH for me. Especially since most of the "best" humor is usually just references.

I find R controls a lot better when you realize that your not supposed to control it like a 3d platformer and just hold down accelerate while using the analog stick solely for movements. Makes the game more precise. I still think 06 is the worst, Boom is at least somewhat playable by comparison even if it's really boring. Least favorite has to be Lost World because that game really didn't feel like Sonic at all to me.

It was slower than most 3D games, but that was my point. The adventure games are so fast that you can't do much beyond running at a straight line and jumping sideways at some sections.

Got the game and played it for the first time last month expecting it to be a broken mess on par with 06 (at least according to /v/). Only glitch I encountered in the entire game was with Big's weird fishing mechanic. The game is nothing special, but you delerious faggots are embarrassingly biased towards sonic.
