Look I don't disagree that all of the post FFX battle systems are shit but this is a series that has always been constantly trying to reinvent itself. You gotta stick to megaten or dragon quest if you want more of the same.

Character exp not being shared for everybody was the games biggest flaw.

That's ironic because the reason Auto-battle exists in 13 is because it's the fastest game in the franchise where you literally do not have time to queue up every action and instead you need to know what actions you need to do when to make the Auto-battle work the best. For example, Teammates will not use weakness-exploiting elements unless you find this information during the battle, and Auto-battle isn't going to do that.

Of course OP didn't know that because he's too busy guzzling cum and hating on the best game in the franchise to notice, but I thought it was pertinent information.

I didn't level khimari once in my 14-year old playthrough, but I'm 22 and beat it recently without leveling him again. Now I'm doing it again on HD and probably gonna do the same thing.
I read somewhere the brothers scale to khimari's level.

The combat system is fucking fantastic and worth a playthrough just for that. Use a guide though if you wanna get everything cause some "secrets" are jumping through bullshit invisible hoops at the exactly correct time.

To be honest, I have no idea. FFX had a very nicely done battle system. The way turns worked was awesome and I loved how fast characters could potentially have a turn multiple times in a row. Balancing was terrible in it though and there was way too much rock paper scissors in its design, especially early game.

Not him but the story wasn't abysmal, just bad. If you cared at all about Yuna/Tidus storyline atleast, which most didnt. I liked Riku's character as well, Yuna was ok, but Payne was an edgy one note character in my opinion.
If it weren't for the gameplay the game would be extremely forgettable though, I agree.

You jest but Rikku in battle shouts are quite consistent. You can swap her in and out and get a lot of them as long as the enemy monsters are the slimy/ugly/big kind. All the other characters stop giving a shit after the very first 2 hours.

I think FF12 had a pretty good "non-turn-based" system. I do think though that abandoning turn based really changes the way a whole RPG plays and feels.

13 and 15 are fucking horrible systems though.

I do see basically all JRPG that are party based and NOT turn based use something very close to ff12s system though.
