implying they were even worth that much.

these "retro" stores are the biggest rip off ever no one should ever buy from them.
>>
>>377632673
It's not the mislabeling, it's how overpriced it is. 40 burgers for a such an old game is rediculous.
>>

for a physical object in limited supply that still has a decent demand, I don't see what's strange about it

wouldn't say if it was a digital version
>>
>>377633034
Funny thing is the longer it sits there, the more justified the price is going to be. People's cartridges won't last forever and collectors won't care about the price if they can't find it anywhere else.
>>
>>377633229
>Funny thing is the longer it sits there, the more justified the price is going to be
Maybe in 100 fucking years when it is ACTUALLY in short supply

I would offer the store owner 10 dollars for the DK cart, and leave if he refused
There is literally no reason to spend 40 burgers on a game that is very common and easily emulated
>>
>>377633609
>implying you can barter more than like $5 in a retro games store
Good luck if it's a chain like play it again games. Bartering doesn't exist there
>>
just buy a everdrive
>>
>35 bucks for DKR
what the hell, that game was always cheap as hell.
Same with THPS1 and DK64.

Honestly unless your collection is pretty big already this or emulation are your only realistic options. It just isn't worth it getting into the scene if you're new to it so I couldn't recommend either of those options enough but would side with the everdrive as N64 emulation is ass.
>>
>>377632915
N64 ain't even that old or retro.

Are N64 games really going for that price? I've got Paper Mario, SM64, both Banjos and DKR. Plus stuff like Waveracer and shit.

Paper Mario is worth ~80$ cartridge only
>>
Scarcity brings value
>>
>>377635003
Conpared to shit like nes, gc or snes, N64 collection is not really that expensive
Paper Mario and both Banjos are kinda expensive (specially Tooie). Mario 64 is not that pricey.
DKR and WaveRace are really cheap.
If you have shit like pokestadium 2, Conker, Majora or Goemon, you can get lots of cash.
>>
>>377635479
They aren't fucking scarce. Besides games like Earthbound, tons of games are inflated to astronomical prices. The market for owning the physical game is low. We can play 99% of old games over emulator.

Smash Melee still sits around $50. It's an old game in HIGH demand since it's still used for tournaments today. Sunshine is $50 because of the retro gaming bubble.
>>
>>377635195

>>
>>377633023

>>
>>377635106
People don't understand that just because something is rare, it doesn't mean it's worth a shit load. It's completely dependent on demand, and even then you still need to find the right buyer who wants it that much.
Fuck the internet, it ruined everything.
>>
>>377636167
>guy trying to find retro games to relive his childhood comes up to my yard sale

Last time I checked it was like $35.
Depending on it's state, maybe you can get 50 bucks.
>>
Where do people get good new n64 controllers now? My old pair have worn down sticks and it looks like its impossible to get a replacement that isn't a shitty 3rd party imitation.

At least I got kirby superstar from him for free. Apparently all his friends only ever wanted to play Kirby whenever then were over and he hated the game.

I'd still have it if not for the great "momma needs her gambling money" of '06.
Lost a lot of good games that day...

Should've told her to fuck off
>>
>>377635106
Yeah, I don't want dirt cheap, but if you're going to sell at the exact same price as the Internet, then I'll just buy it from the Internet. Yard sales and flea markets want to get RID of their stuff. Don't sell shit at market price if you want stuff to sell. Sell slightly under, even 10 dollars off will make it go fast.
>>
>>377637012
I'll look into this then. The buttons and shell on my old pads are still fantastic, but the sticks are FUBAR.
>>
I own DK64 and it is definitely not worth forty dollars.
>>
>>377637023

I mean you made a great deal, but why that?

I was only 17 at the time.
She took them out of my bedroom while I was at school.
And at this point I was fully aware of her gambling addiction, but it was that moment when I realized that there was no hope for change from her.
She lost custody about 3 months later.
